Pheu Thai party’s prime ministerial candidate, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, gave birth to her first child this morning (Monday), and said that she will return to the campaign trail as soon as she has recuperated.

The boy has been named Prutthasin Sooksawas, nickname “Thasin”.

Meanwhile, her father, exiled former Prime Minister Thaksin, tweeted a message at 8.14am, saying that he is very happy to have his seventh grandchild, adding that he will be 74 in July and would like to seek permission to return to Thailand to raise his grandchildren.

He ended his message “See you soon.”
