Pheu Thai party’s prime ministerial candidate, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, gave birth to her first child this morning (Monday), and said that she will return to the campaign trail as soon as she has recuperated.

The boy has been named Prutthasin Sooksawas, nickname “Thasin”.

Meanwhile, her father, exiled former Prime Minister Thaksin, tweeted a message at 8.14am, saying that he is very happy to have his seventh grandchild, adding that he will be 74 in July and would like to seek permission to return to Thailand to raise his grandchildren.

He ended his message “See you soon.”

Thaksin, invariably viewed as de facto Pheu Thai party boss who has been living in self-exile overseas following the 2006 coup, posted on his Twitter page to repeatedly vow to return home sooner than later on occasion of today’s birth of his seventh grandchild, namely Thasin, the baby son born to his daughter Paetongtarn Shinawatra,

BS

No way is he returning to Thailand unless he's granted a full pardon before boarding the flight.
