All these dogs are a plague in Thailand and more people should follow his example. If they would not eat so much trash, you could even eat them.

a plague in Thailand - probably so

should follow his example - don't think so, there are a lot of less brutal ways of controlling the numbers and bear in mind a lot of breeds were trained as attack to dogs to protect people and their animals so they are just obeying their "human programming"

you could even eat them - it is only in recent times that eating dogs in Thailand has been curtailed, eating rats is a norm here if not a delicacy - who eats more trash dogs or rats or ....

Bit of a contradiction believing nothing justifies killing animals, but eats them!

1) That's why I said I struggle with it.

2) My objection ( perhaps I should have made it clearer) is killing them because it solves an irritating problem, removes an inconvenience if you like.

I don't like taking life, any life, without a profound reason.

It is, I admit, often a position which is hard to justify.

When I was based in Kovalom Beach, Kerala the authorities used to euthanize any dog that wasn't wearing a collar and roaming around.

so what happens if he's wearing a collar but still roaming around?

Apichart expressed his sadness over the incident and revealed that over 100 stray dogs were wandering around in the area.

And he got out of his car/pickup and counted them. Brave or stupid?
