This for sure not!

Bloody hot and humid. Very little "cooling" down through the night.

100% AC when in hotel room you can bet.

Even hardened expats moan about it.

Elderly friend in Jomtien says AC 24/7.

I was there in March (until 15) like you and I see some current vlogs.

Big difference/downturn.

Don't be fooled by the usual traffic chaos that seems to be a year round situation.

The Russians won't be in your way in central Pattaya and even Jomtien looks like a ghosttown in the midday heat. Russians are in Phuket in high numbers because there a nonstop flights (cheap I assume). Pattaya is more expensive to travel from Russia.

I went to both jomtien and Pattaya today,  its very quiet. Was about mid day.

A Friday, May 19 video, on the David Strachan Pattaya channel, shows Tree Town and Made in Thailand after 9:30 pm at about 10% capacity, New Plaza a bit better at 15-20% capacity but sois 7 and 8 about 5-10% and shockingly, soi 6 at 5%, the latter based on the dozens of girls strutting their stuff outside, the odd single male inside and a tiny handful of male pedestrians.

Even most of the vape shops empty. Will be easier for evening walks as slowly getting cooler. Hopefully when the walkway on beach road is finished, but cluttered with the usual from Pattaya Klang to walking street

Actually, AZUR Air flies direct to UTapao.

On May 1, Pattaya emptied out. The week before, no lack of tourists, but May 1 was dead.

There are still some venues with customers, but most are quiet.

Went to a few night clubs on Walking street at the end of May and they were packed. No place to move around. Then went to a few clubs in Sukhumvit Soi 11, Bangkok. Those venues were also packed.

Got a wee sprinkling last night. Other than that I agree that the heatwave continues.

Forecasts (non Thai) say there will be 5 mm to 25 mm increasing over the next week.

Still nothing to worry about.

Slight decrease in temperature but still not comfortable.

(minimum of 27 C is not a relief)

What s.cks is the fact that hotels haven't got the idea to lower at least a bit.

(the ones I check)

Areca Lodge fully booked on days around mid June!

Hard to believe...

Nope, it means my AC still got work to do!

I had to go into town (Sukhumvit) yesterday at 5.30pm. All the main roads were grid locked, even the railway road was at a standstill and the queue on Khao Talo to get onto Sukhumvit started at the top of the hill (Siam Royal View). Never seen Pattaya's roads that full before.

Forgot!

It's a long weekend and Thai tourists from Bangkok and elsewhere (upper middle class, government officers etc.) don't care about bar closures.

It has become a firm rule that long weekends are even worse in traffic than ordinary weekends. Late Friday influx starts. Saturday noon, absolute chaos towards Central parking garage. Monday before noon, exodus starts.

So report back on Tuesday

Foreign oversea tourists don't contribute that much to the traffic chaos.

It's not limited to Pattaya. A mate just came back from Udon Thani. Seemingly all wheels on the road.

About traffic chaos.

An optician and wife from the district town drove down 560 km to Pattaya for the long weekend!

Crazy isn't it?

Not any more.  They stopped in March/April this year.

That makes sense.

Report in the Thai press just in the last week said that russian tourists are down 80 per cent in Pattaya.

I was there last week and it's busier at the weekend but otherwise many places have few or zero customers.

Too many places chasing to few customers.
