Popular Post webfact Posted June 4, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 4, 2023 UPDATE - This week, there appeared to be little traction in the public’s mind or acceptance that the results of the General Election outcome, acclaimed, more and more, as a historic shift for Thailand, could be overturned by the Election Commission’s pursuit of a complaint against the expected leader of the next government Mr Pita Limjaroenrat. Mr Pita, the Move Forward Party boss, doggedly pressed ahead not only with his coalition-building efforts in the face of rumours of an alternative coalition and tensions with the Pheu Thai Party over the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives but also signalled a determination to proceed with his party’s economic policies and pledges including a new minimum wage of ฿450 within 100 days of the new government taking up office. Fears raised this week of the possibility of the May 14th General Election being nullified because of growing speculation over the fate of Move Forward Party leader Mr Pita Limjaroenrat were dismissed by Mr Pita himself on Friday who said the matter is under control and that he had been asked to provide further information that day by the Election Commission. Earlier in the week, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam set off a storm of speculation by suggesting that a court-ordered new election is one of the outcomes possible as the public awaits the Election Commission’s decision on the matter. Even if it rules against Mr Pita, a decision by the country’s Constitutional Court may not come until November this year, months after the new coalition government hopes to take office in the middle of August. Tensions continue to rise in the political world with comments in recent days from Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam suggesting that there is the possibility that the General Election result could be nullified and a new poll ordered if both the Election Commission and the Constitutional Court take a certain view over a complaint lodged linked with a defunct media shareholding held by Mr Pita Limjaroenrat, the leader of the victorious Move Forward Party. by Joseph O' Connor Full story: https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2023/06/03/pita-limjaroenrat-shares-cast-pall-over-general-election-result-nullify/ -- © Copyright Thai Examiner 2023-06-05 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post spidermike007 Posted June 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 5, 2023 Any excuse to deny the will of the people. The toxic dinosaurs do not understand the ramifications of this power trip they are engaging in. The people will not tolerate it again, and the army does not have the option of another coup, now that all the moral authority is gone. Granted, Pita should have seen this coming. The party should have selected multiple potential candidates and he should have divested the stock already. But, this is simply a ruse by the spectacularly corrupt, bought and paid for election commission. Hopefully, the people will rise up and not tolerate this kind of chicanery. 11 2 4 1

No obviisuly the EC will have a different view. Edit to say: but agree it was a stupid risk to take if he could of changed anything. Edited June 5, 2023 by smutcakes 3 1

That has never worked, has it. They protest with mobile phone lights and rubber ducks and the army responds with tear gas, tanks and guns. Closing down the airports and the ports and sticking it out no matter what is probably the only way to get change. Setting up platforms on traffic intersections will not. 9

The army does not have the guts to wage war against their people, Burma style. And the moral authority that was there in the past, is gone, baby gone. Nah. It won't happen. The Thai soldiers, and the families of the soldiers would never tolerate their sons murdering innocent Thais. And the Thai soldiers are not facing the level of desperation the young Burmese are. The poverty here is not as grinding as it is in Burma. I do not think it could be sustained, if the fools started it. Thailand is a very different culture than Burma, on a dozen significant levels. And the youth now, are very different people than they were during past coups, which were violent. Parents would give their sons a choice. If you kill fellow Thais for the murderous officers, you will be disowned by your family. Everything has changed. Edited June 5, 2023 by spidermike007 6 1 4 2

Popular Post clokwise Posted June 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 5, 2023 I've heard there has been discussions of a possible general strike in BKK. To me that sounds the most plausible response to this. If the old farts want to stick around longer, just shut down the country. No one needs to protest in the streets, just stay home. Those dinosaurs will get the message pretty quick. 12 1 2
