Any senator who votes against Pita, and defies the will of the people, at this point in time, is taking an enormous risk. He is risking his own well being, and that of his family. His kids could end up getting ridiculed endlessly at school, his wife could face alot of harrassment, and I am not sure he would be safe. Everything has changed, the army is despised like never before, all respect for them is gone and everyone knows it is a sham and a scam.

The prime minister gets who the parliament vote for. It is common that the strongest party tries to form support,often a coalition first, than the second one. But anyone in parliament (I think in Thailand no outsider) can be prime minister. Often strong, but opposing parties agree to a PM from a small party as compromise.

But it is all open to negotiations (which are usually dirty)

The shares were already in a trust, of which Pita was the executor and NOT the owner of those shares.

Prayuth IS an outsider and has never stood for an election in his life. That is why the constitution was written the way that it was.

 

Simply to allow him to become the NON ELECTED PM.

The party had FOUR years to make sure they were whiter-than-white. They could have gone through every rule with a fine-tooth comb to ensure they were in compliance and there was nothing that could be used against them.

 

If they can't do that properly, they would be hopeless in government.

They will want at least 3 months, more probably 6 or even a year, to set in place all the means possible to guarantee the correct result for the "right" people.

 

Wissanu will no doubt explain, the social, political and economic disruption caused by too precipitous a second election in too short a time span.

That's how things go here.  We have been here before and people always say .....civil war but the fact is that a majority of Thais just can't sustain any meaningful protests , especially in the rural areas which make up the bulk of the population.

 

A general strike would be more effective but too many white collar ( or in this case light brown ) workers are also old school and don't fancy the brave new world the young want.

 

My sympathies are with Move Forward but considering what happened to Thanathorn then it is a fair analysis to say Pita has shot himself in the foot. I don't think he is going to be able to blag his way out of the corner he has painted himself into. A great pity because he and Move Forward are exactly what the country needs right now. We can hope for a miracle but it doesn't look good.

Isn't that the same ITV which used to be owned by a former Prime Minister on self imposed exile? If the brouhaha is about that ITV, then, something is probably wrong with whoever lodged the complaint against Pita because those in Thailand around when the station was taken over could easily remember how it all played out.

can u explain how if an index is up that automatically means the capital outfow isnt high? its like saying there is no inflation because my interest is higher.. means nothing tough in indirect correlation but still means nothing

I believe he does not own the shares but is the administrator of a member of his families estate. This prevents him selling them until the estate is settled. So this shows doubt as to whether he is the owner or just the person in charge of the shares at this time.
