Bangkok, Thailand - Bumrungrad International Hospital has announced its plan to construct a 150-bed boutique hospital and advanced diagnostic center in Phuket, Thailand. The move is part of Bumrungrad's strategy to expand its world-class medical services to the high potential market in the province of Thailand, starting with Phuket, the major city in the south of Thailand. The new hospital will be built using Bumrungrad's strategy of providing personalized care and innovative medical technology to patients.

 

Phuket is a high-value venue for business, tourists, expatriate communities, and high-income local residents. Bumrungrad will bring its international standard of quality and safety for patients to the residents of Phuket, providing them with the opportunity to receive medical treatment with Bumrungrad's standard of excellence in clinical outcomes, medical technology and innovation, and patient services. Phase one of the Bumrungrad Phuket campus will include a 150-bed boutique hospital, an advanced diagnostic & anti-aging center, along with a car park to comfortably accommodate patient, visitor, physician, and staff vehicles. Once complete, the services offered at the new Phuket campus will include: VitalLife Scientific Wellness Center and Anti-Aging, Family & Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedic & Spine Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, Gender Affirming Care, Urology, among many others.

Wonder if this hospital, unlike the Bumrungrad in Bangkok, will be able to keep to appointment times. Or is that just the lovely Thai culture to have so much respect for their paying customers they make them wait for longer.

With Bumrungrad (rhymes with Stalingrad) moving in, it's definitely going to be a superyacht magnet this decade.

That's the funny part.

We can be pretty sure the investors of the new hospital thought about that question. And it seems they decided: Yes, it needs another expensive private hospital. 

Call it boutique and make it even more expensive.

This can go 2 ways -

Nothing changes for the average customer in Phuket and we just get another grossly overpriced greedy hospital.

Or

It creates a bit of competition for bkk hospital and makes them reconsider the way they take advantage of people.

Regardless the situation of bkk having the monopoly in Phuket can't get much worse. So i guess it's a positive.

They won't be able to buy them out like they did with the old Phuket international hospital a few years ago.
