Real estate agent (and previous owner) omit to tell one little detail, liable for damages ?
@john donson As others have said, sell now. Even at a loss. Zero to be gained from trying any legal action. It will just make you worse off. Out of curiosity, what did you pay for the place? Couldn't have been much if so close to an airport. -

Does your Thai wife keep you on a short leash?
I have a degree from a university in London. And an MSc, from Trinity College, Oxford, both in software engineering, I think I can pretty much hold my own in any discussion. I think most people in pubs talking about football probably have only achieved something like an 'O level' in woodwork. The thing that makes me laugh about footie supporters is they say "We did this and we did that" while talking about a game of footie they watched on TV as though they are part of the club, they fail to realise it is a business out to make money and they have no influence whatsoever on what is going on. -

Thai Hostages Still Missing a Year After Hamas Attack
False claim. You post to draw attention away from the fact that the Gazans violently and cruelly murdered 39 Thais and abducted 26. Where is your concern for the Thai victims? Thai workers departed left following the October massacre. A small number returned in June at the request of the Thai workers, because the wages and working conditions are better than in Thailand. Thai workers earn 8-10X more in Israel than in Thailand. Your claim is a negative myth perpetuated by people who wish to present Israel in a negative light. The reality is that migrant farm labour encounter wrongful treatment worldwide. It happens in Canada, Sweden and USA too. This neither excuses, nor explains away such event. However, the reality is that such events are infrequent and when they are discovered they are addressed. Israel relied on Thai farm workers and was not in a position to discourage their presence. They did the jobs previously performed by Palestinians who resided in Gaza and the West Bank. The labour treatment complaints are in some cases justified and reported by the workers themselves. In other cases are reported by inspectors or labour unions. There are worker hotlines and site inspections. Israel, like the EU, USA and Canada by law requires that the migrant labour dwellings be inspected and notices be posted in worker residences. For example this circular is provided to farm workers; Agriculture workers' Rights January 2024: LaOved – Worker's Hotline is a non-profit organization that provides advice, guidance and legal aid to workers. The following rights are guaranteed by Israeli law to all workers in Israel whether Israeli or not, with or without a visa. If any of the rights where not given/ paid to you, please contact Kav LaOved. We cannot help you receive your money from the employer if you contact us a few days before you leave. Please contact us at least a month earlier https://kavlaoved.org.il/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Agriculture-workers-ENG-1.2024.pdf Some of the complaints come from groups who have a vested interest in lodging these complaints, i.e. Labour and social activist groups in Israel. others are politically motivated These complaints mirror those seen in the EU and Canada/USA. Mistreatment of migrant labour is unacceptable, but farms are labour demanding and the conditions seem onerous to those not used to hard work. The treatment of migrant labour in israel is no better or worse than what we see in the western world and is still much better than that seen in the Arab Gulf, Turkey, SE Asia and in Thailand itself. That is because there are labour protection laws in Israel that are enforced and upheld by an independent judiciary. How about some concern for the Thai victims of the Arab initiated and organized massacre? Why were Thais murdered? They were obviously farm workers and not Israelis. Why were the Thais abducted and tortured? -

To DTV or not to DTV - that is the question.
Hi Keeps, Thnxs for detail - when I initially tried for Visa via UK - maybe 15 year ago - frankly I gave up and then I discovered the method through CM - when in CM - itwas good in that you could talk with the Officials face to face etc. I cannot see what I have previously held for 10+ years - as a Non Immi O Visa - purpose Retirement - it was good but same seeking renewal each year. I like the look of the DTV - I presume I could justify for medical stuff as have had one eye fixed quite brillianlty at Sriphat and would have no trouble obtaining a letter from them for other eye. -

Pattaya Police Raid Poker Gambling Ring, Arrest 9 Foreign Players
I was in a busy road side Bar watching a tourist family playing Uno. I politely informed them of the consequences of the gambling laws in Thai and recounted the story of the old age pensioners getting arrested for playing Bridge. To say they where surprised would be an understatement. -

Are Older Men in Thailand Trading Love for Financial Ruin
On the other hand: What we have here is an age old issue. For millennia men have been searching for a fountain of youth... An older man comes here and finds a younger attractive female. When he is with her, he feels like he is 20 again. Is there anything else that can make him feel more vibrant and young than having a lovely girlfriend who loves him so much - real or not. He has discovered the fountain of youth... Can you put a price tag on this miracle? Is there anything else in the world that can accomplish this miracle? -

To DTV or not to DTV - that is the question.
One more thing - currently, visa exempt stamp on arrival is 60 days, not 30. How long this will last, nobody knows. However, if you were planning a 2 month (60 days to be precise) trip there would currently be no need to visit CM immigration office for a 30 day extension. -

If AN members could vote in the USA election, who would we vote in?
Oh I don't know, I recall many Americans comment on the Brexit debate in the UK! Equally, it is important to consider that with the incredible economic, military and political "clout" which the US holds, greater than any other nation, which they are not exactly backwards in displaying and at times using, and the role of "leaders of the free world" which again they are assiduous in ensuring is acknowledged, and have done since 1945: well then inevitably many worldwide will have opinions and wish to comment and/or contribute to the debate. You can't really have it both ways: be the greatest power and influence on the world yet exist in isolation!- 1
