Popular Post webfact Posted June 28, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 28, 2023 Officials from the Provincial Administration Department (PAD) rescued two underage girls from an illegal karaoke bar in Bangkok’s Muang Thong district, during an early morning raid on Wednesday. The raid, which took place shortly after midnight, was ordered by Manrat Ratanasukon, director-general of the department, after they received a complaint from an international anti-human trafficking organisation that a karaoke bar, “Tukta Karaoke”, located on Putta Bucha Road in Bang Mod sub-district, had hired underage females and some of them might have been forced into the sex trade. The officials from the department’s special action force found 14 female workers, two of whom were aged 16 and 17. #news Full story: https://www.thaipbsworld.com/two-young-girls-rescued-from-an-illegal-karaoke-bar-in-bangkok/ -- © Copyright Thai PBS 2023-06-28 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. HappyExpat57 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I currently teach 12 year olds. While some of them appear to be "12 going on 25," they STILL dance like 6-year-olds when I put on the video "Head Shoulders Knees & Toes." Even 18 year olds aren't thinking logically, but that's the way the laws are. 1 1

In 27 states in the USA the age of sexual consent is 16 and in six US states there is no minimum age at all 3

So, no emphasis with underage girls being sold in karaoke bars? The law is clear who is allowed to work in such bars. Why you even doubt their innocents? Seriously you have a problem 1 1

Popular Post OneMoreFarang Posted June 28, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 28, 2023 I wonder if they wanted to be rescued. Was any of them forced to work there? Could they leave if they wanted to? Obviously it makes sense to have some regulations. But it also makes sense to look at reality. Lots of girls know what they are doing. And they do what they do because they make a lot more money than many others. 3 1 1

Yes, sort of But I think we should see the huge difference between people (of any age) who are forced to work in prostitution and others who chose to do it. It seems all these cases are handled as if some criminals forced them to work there. I have my doubt that that is the case. 1 1

There is a huge difference, but ideologues intentionally want the lines blurred. I think it may have started when "drunk" driving started being equated with murder. I see a big difference between a joint where two out of twenty local girls are underage and working voluntarily, and one where girls have been kidnapped and forced to work as sec slaves. The operator of the first needs to punished, the operator of the second needs to be put to death. But the ideologues generally see no difference. 3 2

Others are pushed by their idiot parents so they can get more money. Some more are abused sexually as children, many times by relatives, and think the behavior is normal. Normal behavior, thinking, doesn't get women into prostitution. There are always jobs they can work. Though it might get you more money than others, it's not the choice of a normal thinking person. 1 3

Confuscious Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Nearly 2 decades ago, I witnessed a whole family selling the virginity of their daughter in a public parc in Korat. The daughter, I guess somewhere between the 12 to 15 years old, was dressed as a bargirl and showing a lot of "Flesh" to atract the buyers. After 1 hour, a deal was set and she went with an old China man to lose her virginity. Coming home, I asked my wife why this was going on and she answerred: "That is a common thing in Thailand. The girl will lose her virginity anyhow to the first boy who turns her on, so better try to make some money of it for the family." 2

Bull<deleted>. Look into TikTok and other Social Media sites how many girls, some of them way below the age of 18 are making "sexy" clips, just to earn money Not one of them are forced to do this. Many of them are schoolgirls doing this in groups. Go to "NaughtyThai" and watch how many underaged or just above the underage are exposing themselves in clad pictures. I strongly doubt that these girls wanted to be "rescued" and sent back to the rice fields. 2 1
