ThaiPBS World will report this historic event from start to finish.

10.15am – Bhumjaithai MP Chada Thaised says that his party does not support Pita as the next prime minister mainly because he and his party continue to campaign for amendment of the lèse majesté law.
“Pita and his Move Forward party have publicly displayed their promotion of amendment and other activities which I consider a violation of the monarchy.” said Chada, adding that several Move Forward MPs are facing charges of violating the lèse majesté law.

Of course they are, its just a being used as political tool, which is why it needs amendments.

They could also control their loose mouth.....

ya no most of the world doesn't give a toss about this place. otherwise it would never of come to this.

Sad but true

If it had something ...anything.... others wanted then other countries would have stepped right in with sanctions

Or worse if they had something others really wanted like the sweet crude of Libya. ????

You speak for the world?

Well he has history on his side.....IE: 9 years dictatorship...anything? Sanctions? Reduced commitment in anyway? Slightest hint of not doing business with this type?

No it is the same as Myanmar....none batted an eye because it is what it is in this type of country that has no beads to trade.

The only thing they have a slight amount of is location for China to claim as an ally & that is the only reasons other western countries even talk with them

pretty much sums it up for you eric.

So what happens if he doesn't get enough votes? He is the sole candidate after all.. Who will be PM in this case?

Yes but lip service doesn't count for anything in reality. The answer to the question is a resounding no the punitive actions did nothing to stop the dictatorship.

If instead countries like the USA or UK or France etc etc said sorry this is a no go. We will no longer be buying your goods nor will we be allowing banking etc to move through our country to yours...Now that would be something for the old guard to think twice about

If for instance the recent news ...

Starbucks Thailand Reveals Plan to Open 335 New Outlets by 2030

If Starbucks seeing this now happening said...

"Oh so sorry we cannot invest in a country that does things like this"

That would leave a stain ????

then there's this....

yeah...2h and 35 min to end and the numbers are not helping him...????

I tend to agree, perhaps it would have been more productive to keep their mouths closed and wait until Khun Pita and MF were locked into place.

Most of those looking from around the world will be less concerned with Thai democracy, than will there be unrest, violence, riots or a new junta for their expensive holiday - maybe they are looking just to see if they should book a holiday here ?

Numerous archaic articles within the constitutional framework need to be revised or stripped permanently, if one really wants change - otherwise, all moot and rhetoric.

Make no difference - candidate still has to have about 376 yes votes to be PM regardless (there seems to be one member absent today so perhaps 375 would be accepted?).   Does not look like he will even come close today with all the non votes (about equal to no votes) - but I could be wrong.
