In a country of this size and power and the best they can manage to muster is Prawit?

The guy can't stay awake long enough to tell what time it is on his Rolex let alone bend down and tie his shoelaces.

So another who knows how many years of nothingness, hot air and stagnation.

FB page "FC Uncle Pom" has posted clips & photos from a celebration for Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, Leader of the Palang Pracharat Party, who will turn 78 on August 11. Prawit remains in the spotlight because he could become the 30th PM.

Pheu Thai MP for Chachoengsao, Thitima Chaisang, urged the party not to form a coalition with the Palang Pracharath Party and the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party.

She said if Pheu Thai cannot form a government without the two parties, they should opt for being in the opposition.

She said the party runs the risk of losing supporters if they decide to form a government with the junta-backed parties.

The most intelligent thing I've read in weeks coming from PT. At last the idea of going into opposition seems to be gaining traction.

Looked like Parkinson's on the video. Where're the papers promised by the NACC at the beginning of July from their investigation into his watches? Why isn't toadie Ruangkrai urging an investigation into him?

Why attempted? Seems to being going nicely for them. Sentate, CC and EC all put in place to maintain the status quo. The people voted them and the status quo out yet here we are. Seems the status quo will remain. The will of the people has been overthrown and the military will remain in control.

What is the measure of success?

Is it simply Prawit becoming PM, even if he is then ousted within 6 months by mass protests?

Unless the right wing nutters can obtain power and actually govern the country for the majority of the 4 year term, then it is, and always will be, no more than an attempted coup.

Fear not. Part of the deal is that Tony, when he returns,  will bring a years supply of Dexedrine for Prawit to fix his narcolepsy. It's either that or a hat with a bell in it and relegation to The Old Buoys Club.

Going into opposition is not a good idea.

This option is usually made assuming the government is a minority and the opposition have the numerical numbers.

However it fails to take into account that MPs are not a loyal to any party.

What would happen is a number of MPs would switch political allegiance from opposition parties to the parties of the ruling government . Thus the opposition would be a minority.

JUST IN:

@PheuThaiParty and @khonbhumjaithai

have scheduled a joint-press conference for this afternoon at 4.30pm BK.

Subject line: “Announcement of government coalition formation with two parties: Pheu Thai Party and Bhumjaithai Party.”

The original coalition had 312 MPs. Both Anutin and Prawit have stated they wouldn't serve in a minority government. That's 111 MPs. That would leave a minority government of 77 MPs. Parliament would be crippled. The senate would be left looking incredibly foolish. They'd have no role to play. They'd be seen as the bent anachronism they really are.

And you know what? This is all down to some childish misconception about what an amendment to section 112 would mean. It's a huge indictment of the Thai education system that it can't produce adults capable of rational thought. They're all BaBs . Brainwashed at birth.

I can only urge all PT supporters to lobby their local PT HQ and press for deselection of their PT MP if that is possible in Thailand.

There is no democracy,  it is just a word!  Thai aren't lazy as noted it comes down to their educational system which expert outside have criticized along with Thai brave enough to speak out.

Their system is to give enough so they feel valued but it is nothing more than crumbs in able to know you are being short change you have to be taught about other governments and country and alternative.  Then have you critical thinking nuture which isn't their system.  It is basically keep you in the dark as we say in the west bare feet and pregnant can't complain what you don't know.

I joke the system is no more than monkey see monkey do, follow the pipe piper brainwashed society

" This is Thailand "

At most you will have a few demontration all those striving to lead even Pita are spoiled part of the system they don't have the fortitude to sacrifice their blood for the poor.  If their mama or daddy tell them enough they will quickly retreat to their room.

Take the US,  if Biden isn't a prime example all your need is a willing dummy as the face while the powers of the party is the ones running this country. Since 2014, you have Puppet O,  whoever watch man sleeping, Pita they are someones puppet.

Real change or overall of this system can and will have to come from the poor who can establish their own army and sadly will need to sell their sole to obtain the resources to do it.  That person won't come in my lifetime or my 24 year old Thai son. ????
