Donald Trump says he will ask the Judge to step aside

Donald Trump has said he will ask the judge in his election fraud case to step aside on what he called "very powerful grounds".

He claimed that "there is no way I can get a fair trial" unless she does.

His call came after the prosecution requested a court order that would limit what he can publicly say about the case.

The judge, Tanya Chutkan, was appointed by former President Barack Obama.

Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday morning, describing the case as "the ridiculous freedom of speech, slash fair elections case" and saying that his legal team would immediately be asking for recusal of the judge.

He give no details of his grounds for asking her to step down.

Judge Chutkan previously ruled against Mr Trump's efforts to shield evidence from the House January 6 Committee and has faced frequent attacks from Trump allies in recent days. Mr Trump had described her and the Department of Justice (DOJ) as "highly partisan and very corrupt".

Judge Chutkan, who was appointed in 2014, is the only federal judge in Washington who has delivered sentences against defendants in cases related to the 6 January Capitol riot that are longer than the sentences that the DOJ asked for, according to NBC News.

Ridiculous.

Why not just go the whole hog and let Biden appoint the judge? Or better yet, appoint Biden AS the judge. I mean, they really couldn't get any more obvious at this point. What an embarrassment for the US. They really have lost all moral authority, the fact they still feel they have the right to comment on other nations legal systems is comical at this point.

Absolutely, Biden's illegal attack is backfiring already as Americans start to see the truth.

OR:

With all the facts and everyone who ever worked for him testifying against him, he just throwing whatever he can against the wall so he cry and appeal later.

Awww poor Donnie now he’s blubbering about the judge (he’s also trying to get the venue changed)the judge doesent really matter in the sense that trumps fate will be determined by facts and his actions supported by witnesses and his own big mouth times a coming Donnie boy!

Why doesn't he want a fast trial?

He says he's innocent and can prove it -AND prove the election fraud claims.

Winning would mean being president again without breaking a sweat. And destroying the deep state. For good.

And yet.........

  • Popular Post

Who are the Republicans who state outright that they think he's innocent?

None of them. It's a lot of blather about how "he has every right". He can't even get a character witness from his own party. That's sub-Nixon.

So: No counter-evidence, no defense witnesses, can't put him on the stand -I can see why he's crying.

Again.

Read the indictment so you can make an informed comment.

It's a common delusion that the far right think they represent all Americans' views. We used to always see the term "silent majority" until it was proved their wasn't one.

Trump is doing a fine job hanging himself! More rope, more rope!

Explain what is illegal about anything Biden has done (he's kept a proper distance from the investigation and the decisions regarding charges) and why it is improper to charge Trump when there is ample evidence that he has committed several crimes.

If the black judge is corrupt because Obama appointed her, then the Florida judge is corrupt because he appointed HER. In the future, everyone gets to pick their own judge, even for traffic tickets.

Just how much contorting, back-tracking and flat out gibbering is the right willing to do for someone who'd push them under a bus for a quarter?

Answer: a lot.

More, please, more.

I look forward to your protests of Trump being tried before a judge that he himself appointed.

Apparently he’s not happy with the judge because she addressed him as Mr Trump.

Well that and the fact that he himself didn’t appoint her.

And a couple of other things.

I believe it was the “moral majority“. And the appropriate response was that they were neither.

I was talking about those not in the Republican side, they are starting to see the truth and changing sides.

You know Biden was leading the polls  until last week, but now Trump is.

It will be the jury that will decide if he is guilty.

That perhaps, is why they are trying to get the venue switched to West Virginia!

Donald Trump says he will ask the Judge to step aside

People in Hell ask for ice cream.

Maybe he should just ask her instead of saying he will ask her.  "Defendant asks judge to quit" would be the headline, one worthy of The Onion.

Really now, him and his cabal claim all innocence but they behave guilty as hell.

Insulting a judge is probably not the best way to proceed....
