They also, conveniently, forget to mention that Mr T was a billionaire businessman before entering politics. My partner, for one, will welcome him back if only for one reason: If he hadn't reformed health care funding she wouldn't have paid just 30 baht for a 7 day hospital stay which entailed 2 minor operations. Whoever will you haters aim your vitriol at after the Thaksin circus leaves town? 3 2

Where as you live in your luxury Bangkok apartment without a vote, which you must find quite discomforting at times. After living in Thailand constantly since before Thaksin started in politics, and constantly reading the news and talking to people, I have probably a better understanding of Thai politics compared to farmers in red villages. I agree that many Thai politicians are greedy and corrupt. What makes Thaksin stand out is his brazen "I am above the law" attitude. He doesn't even hide his corrupt deals and somehow he thinks he should get away with it. But he didn't get away with it, he should realize that after spending 15 years outside of Thailand. He did some good things for Thailand and Thai people. And somehow he convinced the poor masses, that he, the rich billionaire, is their fried. 555 If those hard-working Thai people want a better government, then I suggest they should never vote for known corrupt politicians. Because how can they expect an honest government full of corrupt politicians which they voted for? And no, I don't mind that I can't vote. After all, this is Thailand and Thai people should decide. 2

It would be funny if it wouldn't be so sad. 1

Popular Post anchadian
Former PM Thaksin Shinawatra told BBC Thai that he will return on August 22, and there will be no further postponement. When asked whether he is confident that Pheu Thai PM Srettha Thavisin will garner enough votes to become the 30th Prime Minister of Thailand, Thaksin replied, "Of course," but added that his upcoming trip has nothing to do with the PM voting on the same day. Thaksin said he had planned this trip before House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha announced the PM voting date. Initially, he intended to return on July 31, but as it was a holiday, he rescheduled it for August 10. However, he chose August 22 due to its more auspicious nature. He further stated that he opted not to return on August 21 due to it being Paetongtarn Shinawatra's birthday. He expressed his desire not to be in jail on the same day as his daughter's birthday. https://twitter.com/ThaiEnquirer/status/1692827564329619966 1
4MyEgo
It just goes to show how much power Thaksin has, e.g. the country cannot govern without his party joining forces, suffice to say, there is his free get out of jail card. What a clever man, he holds all the aces, yet most of you lot can't see in front of your noses, this is politics at it's best, it's all a game and those in it, make a lot of money, at least Thaksin gave to those who voted for him, as for the others, well, straight to their pockets IMO. I welcome the man back and so do many battling Thai's.

A few months ago, the choice was either this clown or those clowns, i never imagined people could get behind MF party with such strength and numbers. I didn’t believe that PT could just turn their back on such a response, and it is now perfectly clear the whole charade was to maneuver the party into a position where the sole purpose is to negotiate a return for Tony T. After listening to local folks, you could be mistaken into thinking that PT is a party for the people, it’s not. I still think, economically he is way better than the current comedians, but I think with all this messing around, and the new obvious agenda, that the door will be left open for Anutin or Prawit to walk straight in and it’s all back to square one.
Popular Post d2b2
Pheu Thai has tossed their voters and the citizens of Thailand under the bus and eschewed all moral consideration to satisfy one man's self-centered needs. If justice were to be truly served he would be stoned by the public as he steps off the plane for subjecting us to decades of bull<deleted> and not sloping off quietly to squander his I'll gotten wealth. I don't think he is bothered about not having a vote - after all, he has spent the last ten years arguing that anyone who doesn't follow his ideas shouldn't have one! Admittedly in the last couple of months he has had a bit of a conversion - thunderclap and fall off his horse while en route to Damascus sort of thing; but don't worry, as soon as things settle down and the military are cemented back in charge he will be back on authoritarian form. Look on the bright side - he hasn't had to spend any money on cans of pop or flowers to hand out to the troops for this change of government! No, it’s normal. If you arrive in a private plane you get very little scrutiny from customs and immigration. I have arrived in to many different countries on a private plane owned by people I worked as executive protection for. It’s simply, land, be met at the aircraft, go to a very small office for immigration, stamp the passport and away. If someone is flying in a commercial aircraft, it’s a completely different scenario.
