???????????????????? The PM that nobody elected, the PM that became PM directly through corruption will now crack down on corruption. Words are cheap here aren’t they?

Just when I think Srettha can't sound any sillier he proceeds to exceed my expectations.

"Fight against corruption" is a standard saying in Asia, it's like asking someone "How are you", it doesn't mean anything but it is expected, once the platitudes are out of the way you can say what you really want to talk about  like, "How much do we have to pay the anti=corruption commission".

What these leaders are good at maybe the best at it is come up with slogans, gesture and wild claims as to what they plan to do and the results are always the same.

They all say that! ????:jap:

They do. they do, and the end result is always the same. Nothing happens. But, as I've posted several times before, the Thai system is that he has spoken, made his recommendations, and his job is done. Anything that happens later is not his responsibility. You, I, he and everyone else knows that what is said will be ignored and is unenforceable, but that is not the point. He has acted, done what he considers to be his job, while actually doing nothing. This happens all the time, at least once a week. Someone makes a declaration and the next day it's ignored and forgotten. But that person has done their job by 'acting'.

Six out of seven in the photo have dyed their hair. Old men deceiving themselves and others pretending to be someone they’re not MAY be an indication of a corrupt person. Of course not proven scientifically but hey this is not a scientific forum.

There are some iron clad rules. One of which is that an incoming PM in Thailand will claim to want to do something about corruption, but Thailand will be as corrupt as ever, possibly more so, when Srettha leaves office. His partners-in-crime will leave the coalition if he takes away the trough.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announced to eradicate unethical practices including the buying and selling of state officials’ positions

Corruption seems to be one of the pillars thai society is built on .

Eliminating this would lead to cracks in the foundation .

That could eventually be repaired , but thailand has to move forward to do this .

Says the person who approve the application for Thaksins pardon. Can’t get more ironic than that.

PM Vows to Crackdown on Corruption

"Hey Sret, you want that playing at 33 or 45 rpm?"

All Fools Day is April 1st not September the 8th ????????????????????????????

What do the crossed arms mean? Cross my heart and wish to die?

I don't know if the Prime Minister can pass such a law on his own because Parliament certainly won't, but I'd like to see caning implemented for corruption like in Singapore. But make it public for maximum shaming. Followed by losing your job and an indelible stamp being put on your forehead. Few would dare to be corrupt then. Also, Thailand would probably be about one trillion Baht richer each year because of the 30% Rule.

Yeah, right! The party (Pheu Thai) of corruption, who has created a coalition including the most corrupt characters (military stooges) in political history, is not about to give up the gravy train. The only hope anyone had of ending corruption died when the new PM's "corrupt" party and his coalition of the "corrupt" (MP's/Generals/Senators) sabotaged the MFP.

I thought surely there was someone other than I on this forum who can speak Thai! Let me translate.

"Cabinet seats are now up for sale, one week only! Gentlemen, please submit your bids."

Impossible to rid of something which is ingrained in Thai society.......at least amongst the upper echelons.

Great! now just follow thru with the jail term of the crim that has just returned, lets see you walk the walk, OH maybe thats not a good choice of words in the case in question. 55555

There have been a whole spate of corruption cases in the news the last few days, a coincidence? Not sure if it is the old government letting these go forward so that Srettha cannot claim credit for prosecuting them, or if the prosecutors feel there is a chance that they will not be penalised for publicising them, now that the government has changed (a bit).

WOW that is good news, now for those requiring a Cert of residence, all will get a receipt for the 'express' service and any other 'express' service from a government official.
