If Trump and his enablers are not held accountable for trying to overthrow an election, ANOther President will eventually try and succeed. There is a direct line between letting Nixon off for his crimes and Trump believing a President is above the law. This needs sorting now, While I agree totally, I am simply questioning if this line of judicial attack will end up having the ultimate and desired result. They got Capone on tax evasion, why not the Don? 1

He has already spent his entire career in court. He defrauded thousands of small contractors. He was involved in over 3,000 lawsuits, at the time he became president. Hopefully they will finally put an end to the orange madness. 3 2

But not always. Evidence, testimony from civil cases can and often does get used in following criminal cases. A smart prosecutor can use this to their advantage, a smart respondent to a civil case may choose not to contest the case due to the risk of exposing themselves to criminal prosecution.

What a totally stupid thing to do - Trump will now simply take all of his business and wealth (reported at 2.5 billion) to Florida - people will lose jobs and now be fighting to get a job with the 100,000 odd newly arrived migrants. The $250 million is about 50 days of putting up the NY migrants. Trump will be well rid of the hellhole that is now NY. Just another nail in the coffin of that democrat state. Trump employs (2015) 22,500 people ish - those in NY can now wave goodbye to their old life. The buildings aren't being demolished. The Trump name will come off the buildings (that will increase their value) and the buildings will be sold, unfortunately, possibly to Saudi interests. The buildings will continue to operate and employ people. There may be some staff adjustment but that should be all. As for his alleged wealth, many people always guessed that 2.5 billion was a grossly inflated, pie in the sky figure. That's all part of the Trump braggadocio. My guess is that if he were liquidated, his net worth would be miniscule. Only the offspring family should be concerned because "billions" won't be of much good to him in jail. Melania has probably already taken good care of herself. The Trump fallacy is coming to an end soon. Bubba awaits him in jail. 4
Popular Post LS24
Here is an article that ignore hyperbole and gives a few facts in layperson's terms. The paragraph on 'disgorgement' should have the organisation seriously concerned. As is the critical point regarding Mar-a-Lago's status. "However, the judge noted that it is not a home and in fact Trump agreed to forever treat the property as a social club and not convert it to residences." Therefore it cannot be valued as residential or multi residential property. It can't be developed. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/09/27/politics/fraud-trump-organization-what-matters/index.html Edited September 27, 2023 by LS24

To clarify, a New York state chartered LLC, Trust, corporation, etc. can in turn hold out-of-state real estate like Mar Lago in Florida. They got Capone on tax evasion, why not the Don? This is a precursor to that. By getting him on the random inflating and deflating of the values and nature of his properties, he was able to commit bank fraud and insurance fraud. Once those are proven, it's a very simple task to demonstrate that as a result, he paid less in taxes than he was supposed to. Remember he used these same methods to claim billion dollar losses that meant he owed no tax on quite high income several times. So it will be there, just a matter of time. 4

bendejo
Worth noting that there is hardly any mention of his international dealings and properties. Did anyone working the documents case ever consider having a look at his golf resort in Scotland? Wouldn't surprise me if he was running a reference library of classified material for his strongman buddies. And then there is the money laundering he did for Russian oligarchs before he entered politics. Here's something for fun reading: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_International_Hotel_and_Tower_(Baku) 1
