Anyone here can act on behalf  of the deceased? With full rights to inform the forum of your id?

Have you given such permission?

Why did you even bother to start this discussion? Why not take it up with the mods and have some respect? I get it, prudish and easily offended by something you have no say in.

Sorry, don't understand that, try again....????

I am agreeing with you that you cannot publish other peoples personal in formation here , whether it be their real name or their voluntary online job on other forums  .

That info needs to be kept out the public domain here

I agree, the purpose of an anonymous forum is to say what you think freely without direct personal consequences.

Then it's up to you not to reveal who you are after an evening with too much beer

Then speak politely and positively, or in a manner that your family would approve of then there’s nothing to be concerned or ashamed of…after you’ve gone., if that is even possible.

Kwasaki died in a motorbike accident a few days ago, and one member posted a pic and his Facebook page in his memorial tread, pluss several social media posts. Thats what it is about.

I still believe his fb page is present in the tread.

Sorry to hear that, and thanks for explaining.

Me neither. Most can go jump into a fire pit. Sick of white people.

I'm sure you would not like your daughter who came here to look for you, to read this post or other posts you have written about them?

After learning deceased members social media profiles with pictures being linked to their knick name here at AseanNow, and still have is disappointing.

Disappointed of members who post such info.

Any others who feel the same? Any good reasons your knick name should be linked to your real name and social media?

Why does this disappoint you and how does it affect your life ?

5 minutes ago, Hummin said:

I am not allowed to say why this disappoint me, simple as that. I have asked for an explanation why this is allowed to link to his social media.

Surely that post revealing a personal facebook account breaks the forum rules?

31. You will not publicly discuss other members or post any member's personal information including but not limited to emails, social media messages, private messages, photos or website details. Contact information is permitted in the Jobs Offers and Jobs Wanted sections, but for the privacy and security of our members we strongly urge the use of the private message function rather the posting of personal contact information.

Just because the member tragically died does not give you the right to be so disrespectful and by pass those rules. I can understand if people knew him personally and used his first name as that cannot be linked to the real world but to reveal all his personal details via his personal facebook page link is beyond the pale.

He signed up to an anonymous forum, had never publicly revealed his personal details and that should have been respected for the sake of his family or children let alone respect to himself.

3 reports and also asked for an explanation, and as you know we are not allowed to discuss moderators

The broken family tragedies are heart-breaking.

Try to make peace and forgive.

You can't just not care.

It cause cognitive dissonance to be at war with family members.

You surely can thank me, when someone do not post your fb page in public at AN, for all your relatives to read what you stand for, and what you post on AN.

Nice try to make me the problem!

Same, but for 14 years.

Back to the OP,

Don't see a problem in linking to a dead guys FB page, if he didn't want people to see it, he would have locked it to friends and family only. Obviously you don't want the AN nutters stalking you when alive, but after death there's no downside.

If my private details erroneously end up on a public forum.

Please do not start threads to PROMOTE my details like YOU have done with Derek.

I have now reported my post with the link, and asked if they pleas can remove the link. It was used as an example how a profile media link can be reported and not taken down. That should concern most of us.

This thread isn't about you though and the whole world doesn't revolve around you are your experiences .

There are quite a few posters who would want to keep their ASEANNOW life/posts away from family members

I don't think dead people care much about anything.
