The worst place in Thailand

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

This is not a Thai bashing thread because Thailand has some wonderful places , but like all Countries there are also some terrible places .

What is the worst place in Thailand that you have been to ?

The worst place that I have been too is Mo chit bus station in Bangkok on a cold wet dark Monday morning .

Had just spent a few weeks in the sparsely populated Chiang Rai , clean, fresh and friendly smartly dressed people and got the overnight bus to Mo Chit .

The bus arrived just before sunrise and there were cars and buses in traffic jams all around the bus station  and the bus station looked like a bomb had just gone off and it was cold and wet .

Numerous poorly dressed skinny  locals jumped out the shadows shouting if I wanted a taxi somewhere . Walking through the bus station to the read stank of stale urine and people sleeping in tents .

It really was a horrible place .

What is the worst place in Thailand that you have been to ?

I don't remember any name. But some of the places on the 2nd floor in Patpong are on that list. Luckily, I was too drunk to remember much.

  • Bangkok. Filthy dirty, too hot, sidewalks impassable, terrible traffic, smelly, too many people.......I could go on. It's my least favourite place in Thailand

Agree, If not for Nana I'd never have stayed there longer than a day while waiting to leave it.

However, IMO all Thai cities are as horrible. They have allowed the car to destroy every city and town. Maintenance is unknown concept.

Outside Bangkok, the concept of public parks are only dreams. Pattaya used to have one, but they built a car park on it.

For example? I know of none such and I have walked much of the central city.

I used to think the Isaan village I now spend most of the year in, was the worst place in Thailand.  “What am I doing here?”

Now, it seems like one of the best places for me…

A tool needs to be pointed out, they usually go back to the shed.........????️.................????

What lets me shiver are the concrete mountains along Jomtien 2nd Rd.

How can people live in such cages?

Where I live in Isaan, concrete estates are going up all over the place, few with a garden or even a bit of outside space, next doors windows a few feet away..........????

Only place I can think of that would be worse than Khlong Toei slums, would be living next to or near the Thai bashing, always complaining, cry babies on  AN.

Or sitting on a barstool next to them ... oh wait ... that's why I don't go to bars.

Only thing I could imagine worse, would be the life their partners have to endure daily with their drivel, though I'd be surprised if any have partners in life.

Do you think that Mo Chit bus station in Bangkok is a very nice place ?

Do you get off the bus in the morning , take a deep breathe and smell the stench of stale urine and think to yourself "Its great to be home"

I stopped off at Pattaya once to have a look, went down by the sea front, walked up and down the side roads, I couldn't wait to move on, in fact I couldn't wait to get back to my house in Isaan......????

The only place I’ve been to besides all provinces north of Tak (which I like very much) is Phuket, didn’t like it at all and don’t plan on returning.

Do you have a reason for not "ever" going....?  ????

That might be the issue, as there is so much more to Krung Thep, than the business & adult entertainment areas.

Also, when was the last time you were there ?  It's changed quite a bit is many aspects.

So many more, but a short list of some green areas: parks

Same here. My home in the Phitsanulok jungle is heaven.....to me.

The odd few times stale urine is smelled is because Titan, our little Schoodle, will not go out for his pee pee if it is raining, so my office is his toilet.

If Isaan has many, or most of the best looking women, some prefer to stay there.  I know from personal experience.

For me personally it’s a bit of a tourist trap and not as calm as I like. Locals for the most part decent and friendly though there’s a bit more of an aggressive atmosphere compared to what I’m used to. Was there for five days and it was more than enough.

Oh, well, I have been all over Isaan, lived here for many years, and I don't agree with what you have written, and 5 days is no time to make such statements.

But, I am not you.............????

Pattaya, cesspit of crime, degradation, filth, fake smiles and broken dreams, a haven for sex tourists, pedos and mugs.

I will pass that on to my young friends who both work at the Hilton and my lady friend who has her own hair salon.

Open air sex resorts with thousands of prostitutes, pimps, brothels and bars sometimes employing kids will always have their supporters and apologists.
