Violent Clash Among Pattaya Youth Gangs Leaves Man With Finger Severed

Pattaya — A chaotic clash between two youth gangs erupted at a Pattaya skatepark near Laem Bali Hai early this morning, October 8th. The incident resulted in one teenager having his finger severed and injuries to two others.

The incident, which took place at 4 AM, caused unsuspecting tourists who were hanging out near a skatepark at Bali Hai Pier, Pattaya, to flee in panic.

 

Pattaya Police and emergency responders were called to the scene to arrest the teenagers involved but they had already escaped. However, authorities found at least three young teens who had been injured in the incident. Their names were withheld due to their ages.

 

According to emergency responders, the first teenager sustained minor injuries to his left arm presumably from a knife attack. The second victim suffered cuts on his head and arms. Lastly, the third victim had a knife wound to his back and his right hand, resulting in the loss of his index finger.

Yeah when your young, dumb, do not have wife, family, kids, maybe no job I guess these guys do not think of the life long consequences.  

 

Thai male culture is about being strong, tough.  Army, Muay Thai, fighting with your friends.  No surprise someone is going to take it to far and be missing a finger sooner or later.

I suppose their parents were not parenting, as is the norm here where, often, people only have kids as an insurance policy to fund them in their old age. Actually raising them responsibly is too much hard work.

Good to see that Thai youth still have it in them. They are actually going outside and doing some battle like normal teenagers should. Instead of sitting inside on social media and playing video games.

If it was limited to a bout of fisticuffs and the resulting black eyes and bruises I would have no problem with it either. Get it out of their system... but various life changing or even ending weapons often emerge, and as such the police have a duty to put a stop to it.
