  • In my opinion watching fictional TV series is a complete and utter waste of time.   I am surprised they are as popular with the masses as they are. I assume it is escapism from their boring

I would say 'The Fugitive' was exceptionally excellent in it's day and remains a good watch today.

Great, solid list. I love Fargo, but I will replace it with Curb Your Enthusiasm. That is my three.

There was a long running sci fi series about the same time as Fugitive, Title had a flying saucer in it if I remember correctly. Anyone know the name?

Also the series about a guy with one year to live doing dangerous things. Title had a scene of speed record attempt on the salt lake.

I don't remember much about them except I watched a lot of episodes.

I do remember MOGUL, which was a great series.

Game of Thrones

Ray Donovan

The Walking Dead (all)

I didn't watch any TV series in the last 30 years or so...

I'm sort of with you on that score. I began to tire of TV when story arcs became ever present, replacing episodic TV. The only story arc series I ever liked ran for but one season, Nowhere Man (1995-96), with Bruce Greenwood.

Good one.  A couple of others in that vein, Ripcord and Whirlybirds.

Did you all forget 'Man in a Suitcase'?

I have never seen that one, although I've always wanted to. I don't think it ever ran on US television. Another obscure cult classic, sort of like Coronet Blue, I would guess from its description.

After reading through the list up until right this moment, I can think of three more forgotten series worth being put up.

1. The Invaders (1967-68), with Roy Thinnes

2. The River (2012), a TV explorer goes missing in Amazonia on a river that alters space and time, with Bruce Greenwood.

3. Shogun (1980), the mini-series based on James Clavell's novel.

McGoohan was a great actor but never, IMO, sufficiently recognised as such.

My avatar agrees with you.

Season 1 available from the usual sources and DailyMotion.

Thank you. Although it wasn't an answer to my question, that is the series I was wanting the name of.

Do you know the name of the series about the guy with one year left to live?

It was an American series.

Are you thinking of Run for Your Life, with Ben Gazzara. Ran from 1965 to 1968. Another excellent series to come from Roy Huggins.

Thanks

Although ( according to wikipedia ) it was in colour, I saw it in black and white as NZ didn't get colour tv till 1973.
