Phuket International Airport officials have responded to a number of recent grievances about high temperatures within the airport’s international terminal. Sweaty passengers have taken their concerns to social media.

 

Yesterday, the airport administration responded…

“In response to the reported issue, it was discovered that one of the two chillers (compressors) within the airport had experienced a malfunction. This malfunction resulted in higher indoor temperatures, compounded by a refrigerant leak in the machine.”

 

The airport promptly reported the problem to their air conditioning service provider to sort out the problem. In the interim, 90 mobile air conditioning units were deployed within the terminal to alleviate any discomfort.

In response to complaints they found the aircon was not functioning 100%.....seriously?

Phuket Airport Issues Statement About Uncomfortably Hot Terminals

Phuket – The Phuket International Airport has clarified over hot temperatures in the terminals after many people have complained.

Many people have complained on social media recently over hot temperatures inside the international terminal at the airport this week.

 

On Thursday (October 19th) the Phuket International Airport issued a clarification. They stated, “Following the issue, there are two chillers (compressor) inside the airport, one of the chillers had malfunctioned. This caused higher temperatures. There was also some leaking of refrigerant in the machine.”

When did 26C/75F become hot.   Wait till it's 35C feels like 45C

25c sounds good to me. Airports are more often than not too cold anyways.

If the actual indoor terminal temperature was 25.5C no one should be complaining, I suspect that the picture  in this article was not the actual terminal temperature, more like what it should be! 

Typical muppet show, someone needs to complain before they realise the temperature has gone up and they have a chiller out! BTW a chiller is not a compressor but with a chiller not working the compressor will overheat and should cut out!

I suspect that 75°F becomes hot when one goes from their air conditioned house, to their air conditioned car, to their air conditioned office, to their air conditioned car, to the air conditioned grocery store and back to their air conditioned house.... Welcome to America! lol

Tropical outside yes... shouldn't be inside.

It is typical of Thailand to do something after the horse has bolted. 
I just sit and read the incompetence of everything Thai.

For me, I always get a chuckle, just by reading the news weekly. You don’t need to read weird news on Reuters anymore. Just follow Thailand’s daily antics.

We keep the house at 26-28.   Though I have no problem walking in the park or surfside when 36 feels life 53.

usually ridiculously cold in Thai airports with the ice cold setting they put the air-con on. would have made a nice change.
