On October 25, Thai police apprehended Alfred [last name withheld], a 64-year-old Swiss national, in the Kalasin district.

He was detained in Pon Thong, Mueang area, following an arrest warrant related to the illicit manufacturing and sale of controlled substances in Switzerland, reported Daily News.

The offenses include the production and sale of performance-enhancing drugs often used in bodybuilding, sexual performance enhancers, and appetite suppressants.

Swiss authorities had earlier sought the cooperation of Thai police after evidence surfaced that Alfred's network had illicitly earned millions of Thai Baht between 2012 and 2014.

It was later discovered that Alfred had been evading arrest and had been residing in Thailand since 2015. Upon his arrest, initial investigations revealed significant findings, and he was subsequently handed over to the Thai criminal court for further legal proceedings.

If they ever make foreigners pass a criminal background check to enter Thailand on a long stay visa, I'm all for it.

They do, my visa has a intepol check for example (Elite).

But that only helps if there's an outstanding warrant, most cases are sealed, and that information isn't disclosed until indictments hit.

Seems his crime was carrying on after a law was introduced.

Since October 2012, the revised Swiss Law on Encouraging Sports and Physical Activity (Sports Law) specifies that importation of doping substances is classified as a criminal act irrespective of whether the person importing the substances is a licensed athlete (Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft, 2012).

Wouldn't be sure. Some stupid rule forbids police to present people handcuffed.
So they wrap something around to make it look "better" :cheesy:

You need to see a eye doctor.

Those remarks of you and your brother in spirit are just plain ignorant.

Of course I don't envy you walking in Dolce & Gabanna around the house.

I do recall being required to submit a police report (along with the medical and financial statements) when I applied for a Kingdom of Thailand )-A Visa for reason of retirement in 2011.

That is already the case you have to submit a criminal record certificate when applying. Problem beeing is that if you are not yet convicted it does not show on the record.
