Day 1. 03.11.23.

Today’s ride was Pattaya to Kanchanaburi, I left later than I usually would due to bar hopping yesterday. I was still away in good time and although I tried a different route it was mostly hot and busy. 289km ridden.

Turning here off the A321

https://maps.app.goo.gl/KboqtVB1Qdv9PDfF8

To this point onto the A323 was the best part of the ride alongside the canal.

Day 2. 04.11.23 Kanchanaburi Canal exploring

Today I decided to explore the tracks and small lanes alongside the canal I rode by yesterday.

A fun and easy 170km of good road to rough tracks.

On the way back into Kanchanaburi I visited Phong Tuek Historical Site which I found by accident.

Day 3 of my tour today and I rode a 157km loop through some nice countryside. By accident I came across a temple up a steep road on a small hill and decided to take a look. It’s well worth the ride up for the views for sure.

The temple is Phra Chulamanee Sri Mahathat Wat Phra That Pong Nok

They look a bit too off-road for me. 🤔 If a Thai farmer doesn't go there, neither do I.

I was thinking that, but I would take my Wave and sidecar on that route been down worse roads than that on it.

Well done must have been fun.

Day 4. Today I decided to ride to get as near as I could to the Burmese border. On the way I decided to stop at Tham Krasae Railway Bridge to take a few photos.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/3HRdumZNVsQ1TR9W9

From here I rode until the Thai army road block at Bong Ti, Sai Yok District.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/UpUgJRbgy5sjqf9F7

This was a few kilometers short of the border. I then back tracked to the reservoir Ban Thai Mueang.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/UpUgJRbgy5sjqf9F7

I then intended to take small roads south east to another reservoir but I came to a dead end in a valley. The second attempt was off road and quite steep, I got to this point before backtracking.

I needed to stop and park up to remove fallen branches which was not possible, as I found out by sliding back trying. Looking at the contours on my Gaia map later I don’t think I would have made it through anyway.

Today I decided to retrace parts of a previous ride alongside the canals to take more photos of the incomplete bridge.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/BjFVGU9NkT1EwTPx7

From there I completed a loop riding where possible along side canals.

There were plenty of water monitor lizards about but they moved to quickly for me to photograph.

I left Kanchanaburi this morning heading to Korat. It was mostly a good ride without too much traffic until the run into Korat.

I rode over the road that splits Pasak Chonlasit Dam

https://maps.app.goo.gl/NiGNcpNiM4f2aAU17

This was the first time I have ridden here, the water level seemed very high and nearly at road level.

Further along I spotted a wind farm and found a small track that took me quite close.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/1mPyksbgoGGXUMVL7

Then straight to Korat, 382km ride.

Today I rode to see some old temples before riding south through some jungle to see the Sri Suk Samran Phatthana Bridge, then looping back to Korat.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/tsCn4PEKVnwEPWcW9

The first temple was Muang Sema.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/CjZVkTxahYHcgFLu7

I should have looked around more as I missed a few temples in the area.

The second temple was Prasat Muang Khaek

https://maps.app.goo.gl/6kBUxLKPnoS5jsY17

The last temple was Prasat Mon Ku

https://maps.app.goo.gl/LPv7b8AKWpo6zmsH7

Another good days riding.

Today I revisited the old temple area from yesterday and went to Mueang Sema Historical Site.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/2mL6ikCTTRcnqsCp7

The ride there was interesting as I tried to take some tracks there where possible. But they were very slippery and I decided to find another route.

From the Historical site I rode onto Lam Sam Lai Reservoir before looping back to Korat.

My first place to visit today was the extinct volcano, Kradong Volcano just outside Buriram City.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/6SFTgcKwWd3jYcFt5

From here I made my way to an old temple, Prasat Prang Buhip, unfortunately the track was flooded and I turned back.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/tph4ic1cuRBrk26b7

I then rode to the reservoir Huai Chorakhe Mak.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/HcTb2ixL5wy5dH6RA

Next I rode onto Huai Talat before returning to Buriram.

I visited Wat Khao Angkhan at the top of an extinct volcano earlier this year in Buriram but seems the one you visited is different. Would you recommend a stop at Kradong Volcano if I happen to be in the Buriram area again in the future?

Thanks for sharing all your travels.

Thanks for sharing all your travels.

Its just outside of the city, if in the area worth a visit. You stop by the suspension bridge and walk around before going to the top viewpoint.

Today was an easy ride down to Ban Kruat near the Cambodian border, I rode some small side roads on the way through the countryside.

I found this small wooden bridge by accident, it seems there are some nice farmer tracks the other side.

Today I left early to explore some tracks west of Ban Kruat. My first goal was Wat Pha Khun Khao Pinit. There was a lot of sandy tracks and U turns finding it.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/NgFowVhHTxcn722Z6

There is a viewpoint there overlooking the countryside below.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/8cCp3SKtxeh4fM7f7

From here I was riding to Phathia Reservoir.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/oxcU7PhMR4zHw8f97

There was a lot of back tracking to get there, nice riding and some not nice riding.

I did find a lone tree at a dead end which was photogenic and a tree house that needs upgrading.

After a few photos at the reservoir an easy ride to my hotel.

Another good ride.
