I've been using this stuff for 2 years. The results are great.

 

If you want to troll me with nonsense that just says you are a critic who talks before actually trying something.

 

Thai food in general is full of additives that are not good for you without much of the good nutrients which these powders have.

It's the opposiite. You need solid food to stop the runs. You can't live on powders and water.

 

Excessive cheese causes constipation.

 

Fish is often high in mercury too.

Nobody needs that chemical s*hit. Eat eggs and meat. That's all you need. Watch some stuff Eddie Abbew, a British former ex-bodybuilding champion & qualified nurse says about that sh*t.

Incorrect. His doctor is totally wrong. Powders work out 50% cheaper than meat. Powders are backed by science. Doctors only do 10 to 20 hours training in nutrition and die 5 to 10 years younger. Doctors are drug pushers. Why take nutrition advice from drug pushers who die younger? Doctors make money off sick people.

Yes, most doctors are drug pushers. But protein powder is just chemicals. Eating real food gives you all the protein you need.

No it doesn't unless you eat 4 eggs plus steak daily. I can't do that. Powders give energy much faster. Solid food slows you down.

I eat lashings of cheese. That is counter-balanced with plenty of low carb, high fibre vegetables. Bamboo is great stuff. So is celery.

Let me suggest just because your diet is tolerated by a 40 - something, it does not necessarily mean an 80 yo will cope similarly. We all are different.

My dad is 80. He takes powders daily. Says he feels way better.

I bet he is more fit than you. He told his dr, dr said no issues. Told him keep doing what you are doing. He exercises plenty so needs it .

 

Not all doctors are numpties on nutrition but most are. Unless you have kidney issues you can't overdose on protein.

 

I'd say bodybuilders know 100x more than most drs about nutrition. 

 

 

 

 

One of his friends is 75. Doesnt take powder. Fat and unfit. Couldnt walk 1km without being exhausted.

 

Enough said.

My BP is normal, my pulse is usually mid fifties. I have been told by a physio I am in the top 10% of my age bracket in terms of physical fitness.

Maybe your father is fitter than me, that does not mean much. Blood pathology is a more scientific indicator.

I evolved my diet independently - no processed foods, as much meat, eggs,fish, cheeses and yoghurt as I want, low carb high fibre vegetables. Limited sugar intake, no alcohol.

It works for me, and I don't want or need artificial powders with BS advertising.

I doubt it. I normally walk 4 -5 km on the golf course, take a cart for the other 9. Back in the day, I would play a 72 hole tournament over a weekend.

That's interesting. Maybe I have it back to front. Feel like powders and stuff make you feel a bit heavy and not healthy but at 58 maybe it's worth it.

No you can feel it. We tested 2 powders. One powder had more amino acids, it provided more energy. So those extra AAs do make a difference.

I agree that's it's best to get protein from food.

The protein powders are "processed", maybe heated to extremely high temperatures when produced? Not sure ... there are mixed reviews out there. Some people think they're healthy, but I think it's best to get protein from food.

 

Also, eggs and meat will have many other nutrients that the protein powders don't have.

 

Also, COLLAGEN powder maybe is necessary to supplement as it's an essential nutrient and hard to get from food.

But you know if something works or not. Another simple method is just take a teaspoon of salt in water before exercise. Cheap basic electrolyte hit no sugar.
