Trump, allies fire back at media warnings of second-term dictatorship

Headlines blaring warnings about how a second Trump presidency could slip toward dictatorship on Monday prompted a stiff pushback from allies of the ex-president, who is topping GOP primary polls just weeks before the Iowa caucuses.

The Washington Post, The Atlantic and The New York Times each published stories referencing a “Trump dictatorship” in recent days, arguing a new Trump presidency posed a threat to democracy. The Times wrote a second Trump term likely would be more radical than his first.

“All of these articles calling Trump a dictator are about one thing: legitimizing illegal and violent conduct as we get closer to the election,” Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), a Trump ally, wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Everyone needs to take a chill pill.”

“It’s August 2016 all over again. Skyrocketing cost of health care has millions worried. President Trump’s Dem. opponent off the campaign trail & hiding from the press,” senior Trump adviser Jason Miller wrote on X.

“Dems & their media allies have given up on debating issues & have shifted to name-calling & rhetorical fearmongering,” he added.

The Atlantic announced Monday the magazine’s January/February issue would be dedicated to what a second Trump term would mean for immigration, civil rights, the Justice Department, climate and more. The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, wrote an editor’s note titled, “A Warning,” to introduce the series.

The New York Times on Monday published its latest piece in a series focused on what a second Trump term might mean for the country. In it, the reporters noted Trump’s rhetoric on the campaign trail “has attracted growing alarm and comparisons to historical fascist dictators and contemporary populist strongmen.”

And a Washington Post opinion column penned by editor-at-large Robert Kagan headlined, “A Trump dictatorship is increasingly inevitable. We should stop pretending,” made an extensive case that Trump’s reelection could feasibly set the U.S. on a path to becoming a dictatorship.

It is prudent to call out trump and his minions in their desire to (rule) not govern the country it’s easy even for a lay person to see.his Allie’s can say all they want doesn’t change a thing trump doesn’t have the talent nor the smarts to govern that requires work trumps lazy and vindictive and rather lower tier in the brains department in my opinion

Anyone that get's in the way of the left must be destroyed, nothing new about Trump.

Remember, they called Bush hitler too. If Trump dropped dead and DeSantis was the front-runner, they'd be calling hitler.

The left lies, it's all they have.

Another baiting generalization. Facts are not your friend.

And of course everything that comes from the mouth of tRump and his team is factual. NOT. Definitely NOT. 30,000 lies and counting. Probably 50,000 by now.

It's just insane that the cult followers keep blaming the left for Trumps lies. Trump goes on tv make all his threats and often many confessions too, but when the left points to these VDO taped lies then the right says the left is lying about it.

Every time I've had a discussion with the MAGA cult followers and they bring up one of their endless bogus talking points, I go online and do a fact check and prove them wrong to their face. They then will say oh I don't care about that point (even though they cared enough to bring it up) then they move on to the next point and the scenario repeats until they often get mad enough to either storm away or threaten violence (i'm no slouch that that hasn't worked in their favor yet).

My American friend said that no matter what I say , he will support Trump because Trump is good for American MAGA!!! I asked him, so do you think it is good that Trump spews out Top Secret Nuclear Sumbarine capabilities to just anyone so that he can feel big? How strong does that make USA when their most powerful secrets are shared willy nilly?

My friend did not have an answer for that one.

He says these things himself, where the hell does controversy come in?

He promises a martial law government declared at inauguration.

Is this what you guys who from the US want?

(psssst!  Personal weapons are seized under martial law, they'll be coming for your guns, and it won't be the liberals.  And they won't take them gently.)

More baiting and trolling.

Trump loving from someone who claims to hate him. Consistency at its inconsistent best.

Must be wonderful to live in such a naive world, where you lack the intelligence to see how stupid you make yourself look. 🤡

You dont have to be a fan of Trump to think that a theory that he is about to stage a coup and install a dictatorship in the US is ridiculous.

Now jog along and polish up that tin foil hat, "George".

He kind of tried that during his first time out. They mostly didn't last long.

The long list of Trump administration officials turned critics
Having overseen the highest turnover rate in presidential history, President Donald Trump was bound to have a few disgruntled ex-aides.

Instead, a steady succession of ex-administration advisers – including some of his highest-ranking Cabinet officials who spoke or met with him regularly – have spoken out against his leadership and character, a remarkable break in precedent for a norm-shattering president.

While there are many administration officials who resigned or were fired and still remain loyal to their former boss, there are also several who have become vocal in their dissent of the current commander-in-chief.

My feeling is if Americans vote him in again they are indeed choosing dictatorship.

If that's what most voters want then I'll accept that and be happy that I don't live there.

I believe that disparaging a man based on skin colour is, umm what's that word that starts with R?

Silly me, that only applies selectively.

True. Typical feminine hysteria against the political opposition. Abe Lincoln himself--and his wife--got the same treatment or worse. Trump's not very effectual anyway, far less so than demented Biden, who's got the State, media, and tech behind him to help inflate the currency, impose destructive mandates, and silence critics.

So, nothing much for our libtards to worry about, but the demonization and drama gives life meaning. It would be nice if Trump's p*ssed off enough finally to crack down on leftist thuggery in its various manifestations, as he failed miserably to do when in office. But he probably won't. Mostly bluster.

Relax. It's a great day in Pattaya. :)
