Some people here on this sight for some reason don’t seem to be too happy about my right to do it.

Although the rest of the country seems to love it. Great for tourism, health, and more.

Yea, that is a bit surprising, since guessing, many grew up in the hippy dippy era also.  Been puffing away since a young teen.   Just after alcohol introduced me to the world of stimulants.

Crinkled faced folks are some of the same addicted to that demon alcohol ... in denial of course.  Myself, never been addicted to any stimulants ... well, aside from sex & love.

It's nice to know if I get the urge, I'm not looking at a stretch at BKK Hilton image.png.7a08d8dff248853ed93bf2f0d51fe787.png

dude, no one here hates that you are smoking. actually we kinda weeded out the ones who are against it in this sub forum. i say more power to you.

BUT!!! your post doesnt factor in all the things that might happen in the very near future with the new gvt and i believe, correct me if im wrong, that this is what the other posters are scoffing at. we might be in either for some draconian changes, medical weed with doctor prescriptions, illegal to grow your own once again, or out right illegal.

personally, contrary to some good guys here, i think the sretta gonna make it hell.

other than that, enjoy it while it lasts...

By the time the Thai gov't gets around to putting this on the table, another few American States will have legalized recreational weed, plus Germany will go legal in the next month or so.. Rest of Europe still seem to be laggards though..

American Federal recreational legalization is inevitable.. and not in the distant future.

Thailand got out front on this issue and would be foolish to backtrack.. Plus Anutin is not going to roll over on his his "baby". nor should he.

I know that I'm preaching to the choir in this sub-forum, but it still feels good to say it.  :stoner:

The changes are all already in effect except for the website registration and ID verification for ordering online, that’ll be later next year. Most of the changes are already implemented such as no more smoking inside the shops. Overall minimal changes to none.

No, there are some stubborn curmudgeons who honestly hate the devil's lettuce and those who imbibe. They obviously have never tried a good spliff.

I have no problem with anyone smoking weed, but please do it in your private residence so that I don't have to breathe the stink when I go out. Yes, it stinks to us non-users and makes some of us vomit. Far to often do I have to leave a public space, since someone feels they have the right to puff anywhere they want. Please respect others.

You have the choice not to go near the bars, we non weeders/smokers have no choice when weeders and smokers bring their filth into our vicinity!

How has it affected you personally seeing you are happy?

The scary cannabis news stories seem to have dipped dramatically. Maybe the odd dispensary raid.

But then "friends" of a Russian tourist claimed Cannabis impairment for his near-drowning experience in Pattaya yesterday. Based on reports it sounds like he was Vodka-ized.

The earliest any legislation is expected to be ratified is mid-2024, which with a 3 - 6 month "amnesty" period means Cannabis will be "out of control" for close to a year.

I too am happy that legal cannabis is successful.

It is the non legal, recreational use that I object to. (Yes - smoking it is illegal.)

Getting totally stoned guests out of the beds and onto their scooters, cleaning all of the makings and junk out of the villas and getting rid of the smell, repairing the toke burns in the furniture etc are what I object too.

Alcohol drinkers do not create as much mess and trouble in the villas.

Do you ban tobacco (cigarette/cigar) smoking in your rental properties?

I think you need to sack up and manage your properties more competently rather than whinging here.

Ban all smoking, including Cannabis. Require a significantly higher deposit, and/or post-stay charge for Cannabis related damage, repairs, and clean-up. Clearly communicate that if any Cannabis is consumed the police will be called.

If/when Cannabis is re-criminalized I suspect partiers will still be able to source it, and you'll still have the problems you have today. And you'll still be whinging.

Smoking it isn’t illegal. It’s weird that you actually live in Thailand, but still don’t have a clue as to whether is illegal or not.

you have a choice not to go near weeders too. what you wrote is hypocritical.

last time i checked it was also illegal to smoke outside. so those that are bringing the filth to your vicinity are doing something illegal. rat them out or stop crying about it.

Yes - we ban all smoking. We only have a problem with weed smokers.

Those WERE words for an International audience. BEFORE it was even legalised.
Why? Because it was BEFORE it was legalised 🤭
Perhaps with your vast experience, you can tell us of even a single example of someone being prosecuted or even fined for smoking cannabis.

It’s not illegal to smoke outside. It can be illegal to smoke in public. In other words to bother someone else with the smoke. So you can legitimately ask someone to move away or to simply desist in your presence and you’d have the law in your side.
I do that with cigarette smokers too.
Cigarette smokers are the worst because a least a weed smoker will have a little and then stop. Cigarette smokers can have one after the other.

Don't smoke pot. Don't drink. Maybe you'll live longer. It will sure seem like longer...

That's the vomit smell from the guys who puked the night before or week before and the floor wasn't cleaned properly yet. I never smelled that in the pot smoking rooms yet.

Disgusting habit.

If someone smokes it next door to my condo and the smell spills over I give them a good beating.
