Then why on Earth did you claim that the impeachment was a fishing trip if you had no clue?

I was referring to the investigations during his presidency. You have apparently thought I was talking about the impeachment.

He escaped on a party line vote. There is no doubt that Trump blackmailed Ukraine over weapons to get dirt on Biden. None.

Is that something that you read in an Australian rag... sources please.  Biden is counting on a party line vote as well so what are you saying?  It amazes me that you continue to know what is wrong with the USA and do nothing to fix your own countries problems.  PS... there are only 6 of the Hateful 8 commenting... where are the other 2?

I disregard them entirely as just waste of time made up by his political enemies.

You really don't remember Trump withholding Javelin missiles from Ukraine unless they announced an investigation of Biden? Geez, your memory is bad, Trump got impeached over that one.

Given I know little Obama related, and less than little about his presidency, I'll have to take your word on that.

However, I did find it fascinating that so many ignored his 50% white ethnicity ( his mother was conspicuously absent from any news item I saw ) and that some of the people of Kenya apparently thought he was going to help them because his father was a Kenyan, despite his absence from his son's life after 3 years of age ( Wikipedia tells me he met Barack once at age 10 )

Thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy.  I have often commented to my friends why Obama never, or very rarely, mentions his white heritage.  This seems to be a common trait among many biracial activists promoting a race based agenda. They pick and chose whichever blood quantum serves their purpose.

I see this every day in Hawaii.  People with a fraction of Hawaiian blood claiming to be a Native Hawaiian fighting for their rights.  There are over 800 separate programs exclusively benefiting the Native Hawaiian community and they claim they are under served or being treated unfairly.

I am of mixed heritage and am proud of every drop of DNA I have.

It pleases me that my children have the same attitude.

Thaibeachlovers, when I poke fun of your nationality, it is all in jest.

You mean the missiles President Obama refused to supply to Ukraine altogether per his open mic agreement with Putin for help with his reelection?

Yeah, I think we all remember that.

Yeah, I think we all remember that.

You are confused. The open mic incident occurred before the 2012 election, and was about missile defense negotiations. There was no Ukraine conflict at that time.

Trump, however, stopped all military assistence to Ukraine because he was extorting Ukraine to announce an investigation of Joe Biden.

Yeah, I think we all remember that.

No, he means the amrs that were authorized to be sent to Ukraine in a bill passed by Congress and signed by Trump which Trump then refused to deliver. It took Congressional threats of taking Trump to court before he relented.

Fox News Host Drops The Mic On James Comer's Biden Hypocrisy

Fox News’ Jessica Tarlov went after House Oversight Committee chair James Comer (R-Ky.) for his hypocrisy over the GOP’s impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden.

The liberal commentator, on Thursday, pointed her “The Five” co-hosts to a report by the Associated Press that describes a shell company that Comer co-owns with his wife – Farm Team Properties – as functioning “in a similarly opaque way as the companies used by the Bidens.”

“So he’s been going on for months about the fact that people who are innocent of these things don’t have shell companies,” Tarlov said.

Accusing everyone else of doing what you're doing seems to be a favorite deflection tactic. It works well until it doesn't.

It summarises it well

“What’s amazing to me is that you’ve got an overwhelming number of people in their caucus who voted against impeaching Donald Trump for inciting a violent insurrection against our own House, against the Congress, against the vice president,” Raskin told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki on Thursday.

He added, “Now, they want to go ahead and launch an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden for a crime unknown. No one can identify what the alleged offense is.”

Whats amazing is that there is no evidence of insurrection by the President. Was Trump ever charged with insurrection? Maybe in your mind there is, so show some proof of Trump "inciting a violent insurrection", and why has he not been charged and when will he be charged for this?

I think you need to remember Trump used the term "peacefully" in his comment on J6 and fact conveniently overlooked by many, are you one too that chooses to forget or ignore that?

Jamie Raskin is a big a liar and fabricator as Adam Schiff.

In fact Trump was so disturbed by the invasion of the Capitol that he sat before the TV as though transfixed according to those present in the White House. So disturbed was he that he refused to call in the National Guard, even though, before the Capitol was invaded, the protestors called for lynching Mike Pence, who was in the Capitol. And Trump showed on consciousness of guilt by lying afterwards and claiming that he hadn't watched the invasion of the Capitol.

Here's a good take on the emptiness of the Republican impeachment efforts:

Here’s how dishonest James Comer’s Biden allegations are

Over the past 24 hours, with a vote to formalize the impeachment investigation into President Biden looming in the House, Republican lawmakers have been pressed to identify what, exactly, they think Biden did. After all, a lot of Republicans — including Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) — have publicly rejected the idea that evidence implicating Biden in wrongdoing exists.

All other impeachment inquiries state what offenses are suspected to have committed, and then investigate them.

This one starts out with nothing.

Classic Banana Republic stuff.

Kind of like this:

"Hey, TBL, the police have opened up an inquiry about you"

You: "What are they investigating?"

"They don't know, but they are hoping to find something".

Term limits are supposedly to prevent the establishment of a dynasty.

In Biden's case, it's like an Obama's third term, albeit a four year interlude.  The only thing missing are the speeches by the "great orator."

As far as I know the president is limited to two terms.

What you and the poster you quoted reference are part of the reason enough Americans hate Washington enough to elect someone like Trump.

If Washington wasn't so bad, Trump would never have got past the primaries.

I have to agree, “A drowning man will clutch at straws.”

I am in the States right now for Christmas, and if it was not for my daughter I would never come to the US If it wasn't for her ,or if I had to.

The place is a <deleted> show if you ask me . I don't miss anything other than the food,

At least you can escape back to a better place. You are a lucky guy and I envy you.

Not sure if it is a better place.

Certainly in some things it is . But in many others are not'

My daughter got a speeding ticket on I 95  driving north through Georgia. It was $200 (7,000 bht)!!!

You remember the Sala I build in my "meanwhile back at the farm" thread? No way would I bee able to build this in the US, I would need professionally drown , and engineer stamped Plans , to submit for building permit. Then inspection before I pour the foundation and before I painted the steek, It would have cost me more for the plans and permit in the US, than it cost me to build the whole thing  in Thailand.   etc etc.

Overall I am happier in Thailand and would be happy when I am back. IMO the positives in Thailand vastly outweigh the  negatives

Having said all that, it is nice to see my daughter and friend, and I would need to go on a diet when I get back to lose all the weight I gained from all this great farang food.

Tomorrow we are going to Woodys for a rack of baby-back ribs, with a side order of baked beans , county vegetables, and fries.

You misunderstand. The better place is Thailand and you can escape from the US to live there

No way I'll ever consider the US as a better place.

As much as I bash the USA, it is a much better place than TH ... BUT ... it will cost you.  And TBH, not really a value for $$$ thought.  But if you have the funds.  USA is better.  IMHO

If wanting to stay, I would have had to buy 5-10 more house to rent out, to keep up with the cost of living there.  To live surfside & travel around the country a few months a year, is not cheap in the USA.

A bargain here/TH :coffee1:
