Thalang-Phuket Immigration has confirmed that a Russian man who was arrested at the Phuket International Airport had allegedly hired a gunman to shoot another Russian man at Boat Avenue in Cherng Talay.

The Royal Thai Immigration Commander Lieutenant General Itthiphon Itthisarnronnachai revealed to the press on Wednesday (December 27th). That a man identified only as Mr. Alexander, 53, a Russian national, was arrested at the Phuket International Airport for the accusation of threatening, hiring, asking as a favor, or instigation for an attempted murder with a gun. (Hiring a hitman.)

On June 7th of this year Mr. A (alias), 44, a Russian national, was injured from a gun shot while he was sitting in his car at the Boat Avenue in Cherng Talay. Mr. Alexander allegedly hired a Kazakhstani gunman who was previously arrested to shoot the victim. The Kazakhstani man, despite overwhelming evidence according to police, continues to deny all charges.

It really does surprise Thai police how non-Thais are conditioned to never admit to a crime.
