A taxi service operator in Pattaya found a bag containing a substantial amount of money at around 8.30pm yesterday, January 5.

The operator, 58 year old Wilailak Pimnoy discovered a clear plastic bag filled with US$1,500 (approximately 54,000 Thai baht) and an additional 10,800 Thai baht. The found money, totalling 64,800 Thai baht, was on the street in front of the Gold Hotel on Pattaya Sai 3 Road.

Wilailak immediately contacted the local Pattaya police, and handed over the money to them. She directed the officers to the exact spot where she had found the bag. During her conversation with the police, Wilailak explained that while she was waiting for customers, she noticed the bag on the road. After picking it up and realising it contained money, she quickly notified the police to help locate the owner, reported KhaoSod.

Wilailak expressed her worries that the tourist who lost the money might face difficulties in paying for accommodation and transportation costs. The Pattaya police are now holding the found cash as evidence while they attempt to locate its rightful owner.

I thought, we are just lacking the good old 'found in the back of my taxi story' and up pops this one.

Looks like in the first week of the year the Thai good guys have the high ground.

Well done that lady.

This would definitely not have happened in my home town.

You live in Nigeria?

Yes, it still happens in LOS.

I remember,

had promised someone a monthly transfer to her account but made the mistake to a wrong account number, which was also in my list.
After 6 months, I found out about the mistake and requested the person who received it ubusily to refund it as soon as possible, he was slightly offended, did not have an internet account, so was not aware of the amounts received, but stated as a Buddhist being he would never appropriate it.
So you can.

I am sure they will try as hard as they do to lower deaths on the road.

Its now in the very safe hands of the police end of story 🤔

This heart warming story almost makes you want to visit Pattaya

 ALMOST  :cheesy:

Return the money to whom? The Police? Hmm...

Someone must have really bad vision to leave a CLEAR plastic bag full of cash on the side of the street. Probably thought it was full of rubbish and left it on the side of the street for the garbage truck people to come and pick it up
