Signs warning people not to touch the rails of a footbridge due to electrical leakage have prompted calls for authorities in Phan Thong to conduct urgent repairs.

Local residents in Chonburi’s Phan Thong district are urging relevant authorities to address an electrical leakage at a footbridge to prevent a potential electrical hazard. The hazardous bridge, located near Phan Thong Tonson School, is regularly used by numerous young students.

The leakage appears to stem from a tangle of wires wrapped around one of the iron rails of the bridge. Makeshift paper signs have been posted at the bridge’s base to warn people against making contact with the rails.

Lovely pun.

A bridge rectifier would be required I guess.

The electric company will  want paying before they come to fix any leakage, we had a  high voltage cable fall from a post in our village, sparks flying as the wind blew it, the electric company wanted 500b to come and fix the problem

Are those actually power cables? Typically the really messy cabling is for phone / TV / Internet. The dozens of different companies offering these services often piggyback onto the MEA / PEA power pylons. Usually they also don't pay for this, so they just string their cables wherever they can. Same applies to using footbridges etc.

Obviously some leakage from somewhere but presumably not a full dose of 11kV ...

No, you won't be finding 11Kv there.... separated away from the other stuff. Mostly poles in your street will have  the comm. cables jungle at the lower end, and 4 or 8 bigger cables higher up, bringing in domestic 230V.  (You can get some pretty good sparking out of that too!)
