Iowa tends to choose the guy who will not be the eventual GOP nominee.  Just sayin.....555

KInda like the Baltimore Ravens being the perpetual hot pick for the Super Bowl where in reality, the Dirty Birds QB has only ever won 1 playoff game?

The VP running mate choice will be a consideration because we have 2 very aged candidates. One is so very clearly unfit, both mentally and physically. The other is pretty healthy looking, speaks coherently for extended hours on end, but his age and preferred diet is worrisome.

If you are saying Biden is obviously un fit well sir that old duffer is doing a lot of for real no b.. good for the country stuff done..meanwhile Trump managed to get 51% of the vote in a ruby red state for an ex president that’s not all that strong especially because those opposing him are queasy scared he will say something mean about them.your idea of a coherent speaker is far different than mine I don’t think you need to worry about his diet .worrying about the penitentiary might be more appropriate he’s allready been found guilty of sexual assault (the judge thinks it qualifies as rape) guilty of fraud in NY and lots and lots more coming

Still winning?

He's lost the E Jean Carroll case, and looks like losing again for repeating defamatory statements.

He's lost the NY fraud case, all that remains is for the judge to decide how much the fine will be. And whether he can do business in NY again.

Given what he has posted about Engoron and his staff, permit me to doubt Engoron will be lenient.

He's lost any competent lawyers he had, the ones left are reduced to making daft motions that get laughed out of court.

He has thrown allies under a bus, they are now becoming witnesses against him.

If that's winning, I can't wait to see what losing looks like.

It's a crazy world, right? All that is going on with Trump and he polls better than biden. You have to be an American to see the Trump appeal.

biden can't speak without cue cards and needs a handler to guide him around. It's painfully obvious biden isn't just an old duffer, but he's unfit to be the leader of the greatest country in the world.

Whenever I see polls, I want to know who funded them, who the sample population was, what questions were asked. Yes Minister provided a good example of how to bend a poll to the desired result.

I don't have to be American to see the Trump appeal, it's based on grievance and racism. People find it easier to go there, rather than accept the consequences of their own actions.

The American author James Lee Burke predicted Trump back in 1990. His book " In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead" was eerily prescient in describing the actions of a unscrupulous populist, and the reactions of his supporters.

Exactly. When America s**ts the bed, the world has to lie in it. At least we know Sleepy Joe wears them big boy Pampers.

IIRC the Communist regimes placed great store on the ability to make speeches lasting 5 - 6 hours. Trump can do the same, both ramble.

What percentage of people can speak without using cue cards?

Perhaps you think the ability to talk through wet cement is a prerequisite for high office. I look for other attributes.

No mention of his disastrous open southern border policy then, rampant homelessness and running away from Afghanistan gifting all that  all that equipment to the Taliban  In case you have not noticed Putin has not been stopped, despite the billions of USA tax money thrown away to prolong the war.

We know nothing of the sort.

We do however know there are repeated reports from people who have been close to Trump that he stinks of leaking diapers.

So of course the rightwing accuse Biden of that which they know relates to Trump.

Sure but only registered Republicans are eligible to vote in the Iowa Republican caucus.

At any rate, now that the caucus is done, Iowa will revert to the inconsequential as the November 2024 Presidential election is likely to be decided in the so-call "swing states" and Iowa isn't one of them.

Trump’s leads over Biden in key swing states narrow: Survey 01/08/24 11:59 AM ET

The poll found that the margins between Trump and Biden grew closer in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, but that the former president still maintains an edge in all six states surveyed. Neither candidate received more than 50 percent of support in any state, signaling that the swing states remain divided on who they will likely support in the general election.

Afghanistan was a poisoned chalice, gifted by Trump to Biden.

The USA has been sending all its obsolete equipment to Ukraine - material which was going to be scrapped anyway.

True, Putin has not been stopped. Only his death might do that. He certainly has not won either. On the economic front, he is losing badly.

Perhaps you would prefer the alternative, a new USSR back at the West German border.
