Has anyone gone off blood pressure medication? Do you take Amlodipine? Do you have fantastic blood pressure,which I thought was 125 but apparently it's 110 1
brianburi Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 I have PAH, pulmonary arterial hypertension and take one sildenifil 20mg every 6 hours. Interesting medicine and interesting side effects..... Also take 2 different type of water tablets, again both very effective at getting rid of excess water in the body. I get lung fluid buildup. Used to take Amlodipine, can make your ankles swell..... 1

norbra Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 I was taking 10mg Amlodipine BP 110 / 60. Too much edema in ankles reduced to 5mg before breakfast daily. No more edema, BP @14:45 134/66, I believe the new norm for 80yo is 140/60-70

I also take mine daily, half an hour after waking up, having a pee, and taking deep breaths. I take Amlodepine 10mg daily. Average over 6 months is 127/75 with heart rate of 48 and weight 71kg. Also take doxadozin and finasterid for BHP. Drink moderately and do little exercise. I am 76. 1

The lower number is more important so I was told by my cardiologist, below 80 is OK. I was also told that heartrate BELOW 55 is dangerous. Mine is average 47. 2 1
georgegeorgia Posted February 6, 2024 Author Posted February 6, 2024 I don't think anyone truly knows. You can feel great with blood pressure at 150 ,I had no symptoms before I went to the doctor ....I felt fine at 150 ,only went for a sore knee ,came out with blood pressure tablets !!
