Drivers Brawl Outside Pattaya Police Station After Minor Traffic Accident

Pattaya — A seemingly minor traffic accident in Pattaya escalated into a heated confrontation in front of Pattaya Police Station this morning, prompting an intervention from Pattaya police.

The altercation unfolded on February 27th, 2024, when Mr. Watcharaphon Phonpakdee, 36, driving a BMW, reportedly collided with the rear of Mr. Theerapong Manisri’s Toyota Yaris near a gas station on Soi Phothisan in Pattaya.

 

Following the collision, tensions flared as the two could not settle on the accident at the Pattaya Police Station, and each side called for their friends to face each other.

The cops welcomed the change, Thai's fighting, it's always foreigners in punch ups at the cop shop.

What's the issue here if the BMW hit the Yaris in the back? it's a no brainer who's at fault here...

That's one of the problems on the roads of Thailand.

The drivers have no brains.

Well,  they do have them,  but they are brand new, unused and still in the box.

Even without knowing the situation, one can usually expect the BMW driver to have caused things...they are all axxholes!

The issue is probably similar to my experience where a Thai bloke smashes into the rear of my car   and says " you stopped too quick" ( in an emergency braking situation), the problem escalates when I  called the police, and they agreed with him

I guess the Yaris Driver had no Private Insurance, or the BMW but even if the BMW did he would have to pay the first few K as he rear ended him.

Did you have a dash cam? Essential here in Thailand.

I had a Thai driver suddenly stop and then reverse into the front of my car. Police took one look at the dashcam footage and told him to pay up which he did next day.

A friend of mine had a similar I incident as yours. Guy who rear-ended him says he stopped too quick as did the Police. My friends insurance were having none of it and insisted the other driver pay up as he was obviously driving too close to stop safely.

Problem is that white car has that government badge on the front, so he thinks he is in right. But other driver drives BMW, so he thinks he is in the right. Unsolvable situation. 🤷‍♂️
