CNN Faces Major Layoffs as Mark Thompson Plans Cost-Cutting Shake-Up Amid Ratings Slump
MSNBC is in the same boat. What this election really showed was a complete bias from the legacy media. It's fine for bias to be shown in the editorials/opinions but there has traditionally been a firewall between this and the news desk which should be neutral and objective. The Liz Cheney firing squad story is just one perfect example of this. A 20 second grab that took what Trump said completely out of context was taken and ran with. This of course was believed by the gullible as evidenced by some on this forum. Of course for many of us the legacy media has clearly shown itself for what it is over the past four years. Unfortunately it's these media outlets that are deemed to be reliable media sources. -

Non-B expiring whilst out of country
I will copy what I answered on the other post for you here; Yes your extension may well expire whilst outside, and yes you can enter on a new DTV BUT If you do not cancel the Non-B extension before you go, expect a 20k fine when you next visit immigration for an extension. You signed form STM2 acknowledging the terms. -

Panic as Ammonia Gas Leak Sends 18 Employees to Hospital in Pattani
Ammonia gas... used worldwide for cooling/freezing. Nasty stuff if inhaled. Having worked in freezers for years I'm well aware of the risks and need for education of all staff on site as to this possible hazard. I would doubt that all workers on this site knew of the dangers involved. It can be a long road to recovery... If they survive. -

Armed Suspects Spark Violent Standoff After Collision Near Mekong River
A tense standoff unfolded on November 13 when two armed suspects fled police after a collision with a civilian vehicle near Ban Thewi intersection on the Tha Bo-Ban Phue Road, Nong Khai Province. The suspects, believed to be involved in drug trafficking, clashed with law enforcement along the Mekong River after abandoning their vehicle and commandeering a car to evade authorities. According to police, the suspects crashed into a car driven by a local resident before fleeing on foot. They flagged down a passing vehicle driven by a Laotian citizen and forced him to drive them towards the river. Officers from Tha Bo Police Station pursued the suspects to Ban Phon Sa, where they confronted the armed fugitives on the riverbank. The suspects reportedly opened fire on the police, and one attempted to escape across the river by boarding a boat. Police returned fire and caught one of the suspects. The second suspect took a tricycle driver hostage, brandishing a grenade to keep police at bay. However, in a turn of events, the suspect tripped, causing the grenade to detonate in his hand, resulting in his own death. The explosion injured one police officer and a bystander nearby. The commander of the Nong Khai Provincial Police personally directed the response and stated that the suspects were linked to a larger drug trafficking network. Authorities are continuing the investigation to dismantle the criminal organisation behind this incident. The violent confrontation has raised security concerns in the region, with police and the Navy's Nong Khai Riverine Operations Unit increasing patrols along the river to prevent further criminal activities and ensure local safety. Picture from responders and video of the police stand off below. -- 2024-11-14 ScreenRecording_11-13-2024 18-31-04_1.mp4 -
