The Department of Medical Services (DMS) has issued a warning about the dangers associated with “death stamps,” pieces of blotting paper infused with lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), which can lead to severe mental health issues. These colorful papers, placed under the tongue, release the drug slowly, providing an initial euphoria that can swiftly turn into hallucinations, auditory issues, and distorted perceptions.

 

According to DMS Deputy Director-General Pairoj Surattanawanich, the effects of LSD, which can last up to 12 hours, may encourage self-harm or suicidal tendencies in users, starting within 30 to 90 minutes of consumption, highlighting the risks associated with LSD use. These include the potential for violent behavior, physical assaults, and road accidents.

 

Princess Mother National Institute on Drug Abuse Treatment (PMNIDAT) Director Sarayut Boonchaipanichwatana warned that overdosing on LSD could also heighten the risk of developing chronic mental health conditions like schizophrenia, depression, and auditory hallucinations, which are challenging and time-consuming to treat.

555 i recognize those stamps. hella'f a high to be had on those. Did they just arrive in thailand? 

really potent stuff so yeah, i can imagine the thais freakin' out on them. I didnt try too many but damn did they pack a punch. been around since the 60's-70's. I wouldn't try that again though... happy to just be me with an occasional 1-2 times a year toke. Definitely not for teens.

In Australia in the 1970s I personally knew several people who had totally fried their brains from doing acid. No way could they function in the so called normal world any longer and hold down a job, all they could do was live in communes or join the Hare Krisnas. The singer Wendy Saddington was a prime example, she was a secretary but cooked her brain with acid and spent the remainder of her life in some communal sect.

             I read somewhere somebody has just been apprehended selling LSD blotters here.    Perfect opportunity for a couple of establishment "experts"  who I can guarantee have absolutely no knowledge of such matters , to crawl out of the woodwork and issue some cut and pasted shock horror warnings, to a very receptive audience who also have absolutely knowledge and who have been conditioned by exposure to years of misinformation to be fully receptive to any further  scaremongering rubbish.   

             Nothing upsets either of these groups  and gets then clutching for their pearls  more than the concept of youngsters taking drugs or having sex.  Its got to the point , actually we arrived there a long time ago,  were even intelligent, informed discussion regarding the two subjects with youngsters  is strongly discouraged. lest it encourages people to indulge.  "Drugs are bad"   "sex is bad unless you are married"   "contraception will cause promiscuity"   "Just say no "     etc etc  etc

             Considering that its 2024 ,  the number of unwanted teenage pregnancies , and the number of people who have died from or are addicted to drugs. it strikes me that the above attitude, has not only completely failed, but, along with those who promoted it, has rather a lot to answer for .

              Back in the 70's and 80's myself and  everybody I knew was into "Acid"  can;t think of any who suffered any of the alleged  horrific side effects that these people love to tell us are inevitable 

              Haven't seen it offered for sale for years and years, I thought it had been either forgotten about or had just become so unpopular  that nobody was willing to sell it. I will be keeping my eyes open now

In my late teens /early twenties I took many, many  trips which were all great...then I had a so called "bad trip"...it was not an innocent drug experience whatever that may mean. I never took acid again.

normally every friday and saturday for us.  I would always end up thinking how on earth will I be going to work on monday, but I always made it in.   Not sure how I'd like it nowadays,   but I know a good way of finding out .  Is it widely available again nowadays?

Hah   As has been seen over and over again,  the professional opinions of doctors are available to the highest bidder   they will endorse or renounce anything for money , that is the only explanation,  a 100% love of money.  

            It eases their conscience if they have no real knowledge of the product / matter they are commenting on, which when it comes to recreational drugs means pretty much all of them  .  Mo problem about that in this particular case as the person issuing the death stamp warning,  the second in command of the "Department of Medical Services"  Deputy Director-General Pairoj Surattanawanich does not appear to be a medical man but a General 

            The other guy quoted doesn't use the "DR"  title prefix either, which they all do if they can,  so i doubt he's a doc either

Back in the days when LSD was only LSD and not adulterated with speed. I rode my Ducati 900ss on LSD. WOW! Going down a main road at night it was like in Star Trek when they go  to light speed. Fantastic. Looked at my speedo and I was going ...................25kph.

Coincidentally, today I just an article summarizing a clinical study concluding that a single dose of LSD can cure anxiety and provide long-term positive effects. 
In Thailand, it’s “death paper”

Out of all the drugs I took in my youth there is only one which I would love to try again....and it is LSD. Zero addiction potential and other than the odd bad trip and good time is assured. 'Death stamps' my eye?

There was a clinical study done in London in a carefully controlled environment for people suffering from depression, it helped some long term and many short term. In Israel it was used for terminally ill patients who had extreme death anxiety it was found to help all of those in the test. I have never used it myself due to lack of opportunity. Interestingly it seems that LSD, magic mushrooms, etc  don't enhance brain activity, they reduce it to the extent that all filters are removed so that one sees 'reality' for what it is, just a manifestation of consciousness. The cognitive scientist Donald Hoffman has, after using mathematics in the evolutionary game theory and computer modelling, hypothesized that perceived reality isn't the truth, it is consciousness and agents of consciousness manifesting a 'reality' that ensures our survival, a survival of conscious agents, which only perceive that which is necessary, everything else is filtered out.

I rented a room out to a guy who spent his summer savings on 2000 hits of acid he bought from a US preacher passing through. He was selling it for a living. I would not let him keep it in the house so he had it buried in the snow around town. In the spring when the snow melted he had a pile of the stuff to deal with so he got into it ,one a day for a week then seven at one shot. That did it he went up and never came down. He threw out all his possessions, nice cameras etc. and would sit all day in the bath tub. He stopped eating regular food saying honey had everything a body needs till I told him it had no vitamin C so he bought a case of oranges. Anyway he spooked my girlfriend so I had to run him off so I could get laid. The last thing I heard about him was that they put him in the nut house but he climbed over the wall and escaped.

damn good one!!! 25kph... yup i believe that. i stared at the beauty of a dandelion and was in a daze at how beautiful the yellows and pistils were for over an hour. my friend's cousin who was staying at my friend's house had a bad trip. he thought my friend's brother was the devil. funny thing is, even when i was sober i thought my friend's brother was the devil. i had good trips and a few bad trips. the bad trips were usually induced if i had drunk alcohol while on the acid.

 

our high school year 5 (high school in quebec is not structured the same as most other countries) teacher taught maths using units. my friend and i asked him if we finished the whole unit in 1 day if we could not attend class and have free time for the rest of the month. he didnt think we were up to the challenge. we took it on. that night we popped half an acid each and finished the unit. everything was clear and the answers came easily. next morning the maths teacher didnt believe we had done it. he tested us and we both passed. i also did an acid before a maths test i had not prepped for. it was as easy as ABC... i got 19/20. at our final year 4 high school math exam i had not studied at all. i thought an acid would fix the problem. i failed miserably...
