Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, sparked controversy on Monday when he argued that President Joe Biden poses a greater threat to democracy than former President Donald Trump. Speaking on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront," Kennedy claimed that Biden's administration is using federal agencies to censor political speech, thereby undermining the First Amendment.

Kennedy's remarks were prompted by his own experiences of being blocked on social media platforms during the Biden administration, which he views as a form of political censorship. Despite being reinstated on Instagram after announcing his presidential campaign, Kennedy has been embroiled in legal battles over issues of censorship and freedom of speech.

The independent candidate highlighted his removal from social media platforms and his legal challenges as evidence of Biden's efforts to suppress political opposition. He argued that Biden's actions represent a dangerous precedent that threatens the fundamental rights enshrined in the First Amendment.

Kennedy's assertions drew swift criticism from the Democratic National Committee (DNC), which rejected any comparison between Biden and Trump. DNC senior adviser Mary Beth Cahill dismissed Kennedy's claims as "MAGA talking points" and emphasized the stark contrast between Biden's leadership and Trump's divisive rhetoric and actions.

Despite facing criticism from some members of his own family, including concerns about potentially undermining Biden's candidacy, Kennedy remains steadfast in his presidential ambitions. He maintains that neither Biden nor Trump adequately address key issues such as the national debt and foreign wars, which he views as existential threats to democracy.

Kennedy's candidacy, while drawing on his family's legacy, has encountered skepticism and opposition from both political opponents and some members of his own family. However, he remains undeterred in his quest to challenge the status quo and advocate for what he believes are critical reforms needed to restore democracy and moral authority in the United States.

It is a broken nation, on the decline. And the office is so toxic, and the campaigning  is so horrific, that anybody noble or righteous would have no interest in putting themselves or their families through the process.

Therefore the process only attracts the dregs.

Agree.

Man what a shtshow the US political landscape is. It's like a competition of who can shout the loudest nonsense wins. Logic and facts went out the window. Quite scary to be honest. I thought Idiocracy was satire but turns out it was indeed a look into the future.

We are both saying Biden is a threat to Democracy.

I am simply supplying additonal arguments to support his view.

Hope that's OK? 😄

Neither one of you has a factual argument   maybe you can be his campaign manager ?

RFK Jr. has a good point.

There is nothing Democratic about having someone with insufficient cognitive function as a figurehead of a political party while others pull his strings.

There is nothing Democratic about supporting the legal system removing your political rivals either.

Also nothing democratic about dumping ballots at 3 am until you get the desired election result.
