Cat was already half dead due to the dog attack. The guy cooked and ate the nearly dead animal. They want to prosecute this poor garbage collector because he was hungry? How about someone prosecute the owner of the cat for allowing it out through negligence? -

Crime Scam Bust: DSI Links Immigration Firm to Cambodian Officials
Picture courtesy of Thai Rath The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has raided four Bangkok locations connected to an immigration services firm suspected of being at the centre of scam operations with ties to Cambodia. Authorities stormed a townhome in the Khlong Sam Wa district, uncovering services ranging from passport applications to work permit renewals for foreign workers from neighbouring countries. The DSI Director-General, Pol Lt Col Yutthana Praedam, revealed the firm was involved in defrauding migrant workers and linked to mule accounts used in illegal financial activities. These transactions reportedly totalled hundreds of millions in Thai Baht, with some accounts allegedly connected to three senior Cambodian officials. Approximately 100 million baht has been traced directly to these figures, suggesting deep links between Thai and Cambodian parties. Investigators estimate the scam could involve as much as 400 million baht, considering the large migrant workforce in Thailand. The operation allegedly involves officials from both countries, as the procedures for labour extensions are under the jurisdiction of both Thai and Cambodian Ministries of Labour. Despite the links unveiled, the DSI insists that clear evidence is necessary before pressing further accusations. The investigation commenced after multiple complaints from migrant workers who were charged an unexplained fee of 2,500 baht. To date, only one company has been formally connected to the scheme, but the DSI's investigation continues to unfold, hinting at a larger network yet to be fully exposed. The case underscores the complex challenges of cross-border crime and the exploitation of migrant workers. Overall, this situation highlights potential corruption and abuse within the immigration service industry, particularly affecting vulnerable migrant communities. As investigations progress, authorities aim to dismantle these intricate networks of deceit and uphold the integrity of immigration procedures. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Nation 2025-07-04 -

97% of worrying a waste of time
Better Half Bakehouse, Beyond Cafe, Sanha Cheesecake, De Princess Hotel and Lhong Pa Cafe, along with others sell it, but what's the best is still personal opinion. What's cheap to some is more expensive to others. -

Report Sunburn Nightmare: British Teen’s Thailand Trip Derailed by Sun
The water will reflect the rays of the sun, so if you are in or near the water, you will more easily get burned. On our last trip to Koh Samui, we took the very early morning flight, because it was several thousands of Baht cheaper than any of the later flights. We arrived in the hotel around 8 am and we knew that we couldn't check in that early, so after eating breakfast we decided to spend the next 4 hours resting on the beach in the shade of some trees. Since our sun protection was still in our suitcases, which we deposited in the reception, we didn't go out in the sun at all, but still my sensitive farang-skin got very red and painful, so I had to avoid the sun for the next few days. We will soon travel to Koh Samui on the very early morning flight again, but this time I will make sure to grab my sun protection from my suitcase, before heading to the beach chairs after breakfast 😀😀😀.
