Popular Post webfact Posted April 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted April 30, 2024 The Royal Thai Police (RTP) has announced plans to summon five officers, including Deputy National Police Chief Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, who is currently on suspension. This follows accusations of serious disciplinary violations relating to the BNK Master gambling website. Deputy National Chief Sarawut Kanpanich revealed the panel took the decision to summon the officers, on May 7. This date complies with the Audit and Monitoring Committees of Police Administration Regulations on Probe and Investigation which mandates such a summons be acknowledged 15 days after constituting the panel. Big Joke, who faces claims of a personal conflict with a member of the 14-panel team, cleared his office at the RTP and returned his government-issued car a day after his suspension. Meanwhile, he expressed intentions to contest the senatorial election, pledging to keep serving the public's interest. Previously, acting national police chief Pol. Gen. Kitrat Panphet signed a suspension order against Deputy Chief Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn and four others over alleged links with an online gambling network. This action occurred after further accusations of money-laundering activities tied to the same gambling network. Pol. Gen. Kitrat Panphet assumed the role of acting national police chief last month following reassignments by Prime Minister Srettha, which placed the previous chief and Big Joke in inactive posts during an investigation into allegations against them. Purdey Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Intriguing how the police think he is linked to a gambling site. Does the site list its shareholders? Does it reveal how it divides profits? Is the site owner a close friend of Big Joke? Is there a video of Big Joke receiving a package outside the offices of BNK Master? Or could it be an accusation without evidence? 2

Aussie999 Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Why do they announce these plans, is it to give them a chance to leave the country, or find a patsy.

Not at all ! So far there have been only accusations against Surachate. It will take real proof for myself and many others to believe otherwise. He has certainly knowledge and proof of a lot of things concerning the RTP and government. I’m quite sure that this proof is in safe hands probably outside Thailand. One thing he is not, and that’s stupid . 1 1 7

And I thought, from reading various past Thai news reports, some claims that the investigating police had found financial ties between the Joke group and the gambling group. But at this point, hard to know what is true and what is political maneuvering and infighting. All in all, though, I stick to my long held view that people don't get to the top of the RTP hierarchy in Thailand without having gotten messy along the way. Rather than "if I recall" can I suggest that you post a reputable link to the alleged reports! Your link below your post does not prove such an allegation! 1

Arrested on July 30, she was later released on bail. She vehemently denied operating online gambling sites and claimed she was compelled by a PCT4 officer to confess to a crime she did not perpetrate. She further alleged that she was coerced into implicating Phakphum Phitsamai, the deputy chief investigator of Provincial Police Region 4 and a close aide to Big Joke, in the case. Media outlets have circulated photos and a video of her singing karaoke with Big Joke, and posing with three others. Yet, Suchanun denies having any personal acquaintance with Big Joke." https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thai-police-demand-transparent-probe-into-online-gambling-allegations 2
Popular Post spidermike007 Posted April 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted April 30, 2024 Well one never knows with this guy, he was chief of immigration until he got canned for making frequent and ridiculous remarks about foreigners, and was exiled for years. He mysteriously reappeared as the deputy National Police Chief, was able to develop a reputation as Mr. Clean (which I believe to be totally fake), and now he's being accused of being anything but clean. I guess since they're used to promoting guys that should have remained in exile, in the convoluted and nonsensical world of Thai politics, the only place for him to go at this point, is to become the next PM. 2 1 2
