At this stage with no hope of victory a messy peace is preferable to a continuing dirty war with a disproportinate loss of life on the Ukrainian side. Let's hope that Trump follows through and gets that deal across the line and soon. Europe is very nearly bust and with the engine of Germany stalling there's no money left to make up a US shortfall should it happen nor the weapons or manpower either. This is the only glimmer of hope in a Trump victory - the rest is a disaster for the world.

You are not Ukrainian, it is for them to decide, your opinions have zero bearing on how the Ukrainians feel about their home being occupied by invaders.

With respect this is a discussion forum where we air our views with what is regarded as appropriate evidence. To address your salient point yes that is correct they can fight on for as long as the money, weapons and manpower exists. The sovereign nations supplying them in that quest can also make their own decisions whether after 3 years they still wish to fund that and that process has now thankfully begun.

Maybe Ukraine can restore democracy and have an election and show the world where they currently stand ?

How can you have an election when they are in the middle of a war, an illegal invasion, where plenty of polls have been clear where the majority of Ukrainians stand on this.

"The plan is one of several being considered by Mr Trump, who said before being elected as US president that he would start peace talks before he enters office in January."

“Anyone—no matter how senior in Trump’s circle—who claims to have a different view or more detailed window into his plans on Ukraine simply doesn’t know what he or she is talking about or doesn’t understand that he makes his own calls on national-security issues, many times in the moment, particularly on an issue as central as this,” a former Trump National Security Council aide said.

If these people are important they will have moved their assets beyond reach a very long time ago. All sanctions seem to have done is create a burgeoning shadow economy beyond the dollar.

60 Minutes analyzed four years of data from India's Ministry of Commerce. We found the value of India's imports of Russian crude oil increased by more than 2,000% since the invasion of Ukraine.

Much of that crude goes to an Indian port called Sikka…where it is refined into other oil products, such as gasoline. But those products don't necessarily stay in India.

Sam Madani helped us track a tanker of "refined products" from India's port … around the tip of Africa …across the Atlantic Ocean…and ultimately, here …to New York.

The U.S. is still paying Russia $1 billion a year for enriched uranium to help fuel 94 nuclear reactors that provide about a fifth of America's energy needs.

Hello from Toretsk area.

For the update.. well orcs trying to move deeper into the city. We are holding them so far. they are loosing crazy amount of men and vehicles. seeing crazy things.. we are fighting house to house at many locations. Sometimes in the same house but different floors.. Every where is full of dead bodies.. sometimes we step on them or sleep with them. We have ammo but short of arty at the moment. our drones are doing great. miss thailand already. orcs are moving fast to Toretsk from Nelipivka direction which is located south from here. Our north is clear. no danger so far. east and south directions are really tense now. Georgians are holding couple of houses few meters form my position and dont let russians pass. Azerbaijanis are more south. i heard they had a real hard fight last night but still hold their ground. My group is more east side of the city.

we are against russian 9th separate motorized rifle brigade. they are well equipped. We are so close that we even know each others nicknames. sometimes we call each other.

well we are still holding the city..

Friend of mine from my old group in Kursk told me they are fighting against NK soldiers already. They killed some of them and found NK soldier IDs which means they are not here as volunteers. you know what it means. im pretty sure you will see their pics very soon over internet. my friend told me they are taking all NK soldiers pics. he told me orcs started a new counter attack in that area.

i will try to update you or answer your questions as best i can. but new star Elon keep cutting our internet these days.. also im busy with orcs so if i reply or post a new post late, sorry about that.

my personal opinion is.. no one has the right to make any comment of other country. especially about their freedom.. their right.. what to do or not to do.. it is easy to sit in your warm home with your thai girlfriend away from problems and watch things like watching a war movie. it is always no problem until it happens to you.. today here, tomorrow there. everyone knows how WW2 started.. we can say our ideas or opinion but i think only say is enough not try to push other people to believe you. in my opinion everyone must show respect to other people's freedom!

SLAVA UKRAINI!

No one can doubt your bravery or your beliefs, you are literally prepared to die for them by choice which is a rare quality in this fallen world. I sincerely hope you keep safe and return to peace soonest so you can return to safety and warmth of Thailand. You  and every single combatant in this senseless war. Many thanks for the update.

Your report echoes what ISW have said in their latest bulletin p11.

11 Institute for the Study of War and AEI’s Critical Threats Project 2024
Russian forces continued offensive operations in the Toretsk direction on November 6, but there were
no confirmed advances. Russian forces attacked near Toretsk ; north of Toretsk near Dylivka; and west
of Toretsk near Shcherbynivka on November 5 and 6.[21] Bobovnikova reported that the intensity of
Russian assaults in the Toretsk direction has increased and that Russian forces have accumulated
materiel, unspecified motorized rifle brigades, and Spetsnaz units of the Central Military District
(CMD) in this direction.[22] Elements of the Russian 9th Motorized Rifle Brigade (51st CAA, formerly
1st Donetsk People’s Republic’s [DNR] AC) are reportedly operating near Toretsk.[23

Lots of foreign soldiers fighting for Ukraine in Ukraine so why the big hoo-ha about NK soldiers in Russia? Rhetorical question.

Before this turns into a fight, a little fact checking.

  • There are no foreign military units fighting alongside Ukrainian forces.
  • There are foreign militias fighting Russia inside Ukraine that are not part of any country's military, including Ukraine's.
  • Ukraine has an international legion made up of foreign volunteers that is part of the Ukrainian armed forces.

‘We have won’: Russians envision new global system with Trump victory

Russians see Donald Trump’s win as a victory for conservative, isolationist forces in the world against a liberal, Western-dominated global order.

Well said and very true.

NATO Allies strongly condemn the decisions by the leaders of the Russian Federation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to dangerously expand Russia’s unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.

In addition to the DPRK’s already substantive support to Russia’s war effort, through the provision of millions of rounds of ammunitions and ballistic missiles, the thousands of combat troops deployed by the DPRK constitutes a dangerous expansion of its ongoing support for Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine.

The deepening military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK deeply impacts Euro-Atlantic security, with implications also for the Indo-Pacific.

Increasing military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK is a breach of multiple UN Security Council resolutions, including 2270 (2016), 1718 (2006), and 1874 (2009). This is particularly egregious given Russia’s status as a Permanent Member of the UN Security Council. We call on Russia to return to compliance with these resolutions and to uphold its international obligations.

mmmm Zelensky says he was somewhat reassured but lets see. Trump is unpredictable

Scoop: Elon Musk joined Trump's call with Zelensky

Donald Trump's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday included two surprises: Elon Musk was also on the line, and Zelensky was somewhat reassured by what he heard from the president-elect, two sources with knowledge of the call tell Axios.
Why it matters: The new details of the call underscore how influential Musk could be in the second Trump administration, and the uncertainty over how exactly Trump will approach Ukraine.

https://www.axios.com/2024/11/08/musk-trump-zelensky-ukraine-call

https://archive.ph/A9MCn

The presence of Musk on the call highlights his influence in the president-elect’s circle. Trump has mused that Musk could have a formal role in his administration that focuses on government efficiency, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest given SpaceX’s lucrative government contracts.

The difference is, any foreigner can individually do what like, but, the 'country', N.Korea, has itself entered the war......

GOT IT............?  🙄
