Pregnant Husky Scalded with Hot Water by Owner, Sparks Outrage

An appalling incident recently captured on video shows a pregnant Siberian Husky being scalded with hot water by its owner, who reacted violently after the dog ate some food without permission. The video quickly went viral, prompting widespread outrage and calls for legal action against the owner.

 

The footage reveals the owner tying up the dog in a bathroom and pouring hot water over it in a fit of rage. The burns left the dog severely injured, and the video sparked an outcry from viewers who demanded justice and immediate action.

 

Reacting to the uproar, the owner decided to rehome the dog. The Siberian Husky found a new home in Nakhon Ratchasima on 18th May. The new owner, shocked by the dog's injuries, took it straight to a veterinary hospital for urgent treatment.

 

At 9:30 am today, representatives from the SOS Animal Thailand Foundation filed a formal complaint with the Bang Phli Police Station in Samut Prakan, where the incident took place. They accused the dog’s former owner of animal cruelty, a crime taken seriously under Thai law.

 

Kuson Sukaree, a representative from the foundation, stated that they brought witnesses to corroborate their claims. "The video clearly shows the owner repeatedly dousing the dog with hot water while it was tied up. The dog's injuries were extensive, and it was pregnant at the time," she said.

 

Watchdog Thailand, another animal welfare organization, joined the legal effort, emphasizing the need for better understanding of Siberian Huskies’ behaviour before deciding to keep them as pets. They stressed that potential owners should educate themselves to prevent such tragic incidents.

 

Further investigations revealed that the owner acted out of frustration during an argument with their partner and sent the video to their partner's friends as a form of venting.

 

Despite its traumatic experience, the dog's condition is improving. The burns are healing, and the dog's weight is steadily increasing. Although wary of strangers, the dog is expected to make a complete recovery. The unborn puppies are also reportedly healthy and due to be born soon.

 

This episode underscores the critical need for better awareness and enforcement of animal welfare laws in Thailand. It serves as a stark reminder of the responsibilities and consequences linked to pet ownership.

MAY find disturbing? if no one found that 'disturbing' there is something seriously wrong with them. I for one wish I hadn't seen it. In fact I'm in shock.

What an absolute disgusting horrific thing to do, I hope she gets the full prison term and fine.

Maybe with luck someone in prison will do it to her.

Too many idiots have huskies in this country and no idea how to look after them. They let them roam around , tie them up outside in the heat all day , keep them in tiny apartments and on and on.

This woman seemingly was given a 40,000 bht fine and has to sign in every 2 months at a police station. Quite how something this clearly vile doesn't merit her being in jail I have no idea.

The fact she actually took time to film it while doing it to send to her husband shows she is mental.

Hopefully karma catches up soon with her and I'm sure she will be moving house due to all the hate online .

Agree she should get the full 2 yr prison sentence, non of this 50% discount malarkey for pleading guilty. Were is the public outrage on such a lenient sentence. Plus the dog was pregnant so maybe X 6 the sentence. 14yrs please.

Mistreated Pregnant Siberian Husky Finds a Fur-ever Loving Family

 

 

A pregnant Siberian Husky named Muay Lek, who was sadly abused by a previous owner, now has a loving new home. Muay Lek was terribly scalded with hot water for stealing snacks, an incident that drew widespread attention and criticism online.

 

The Watchdog Thailand Foundation (WDT) managed to re-home the dog, now affectionately called Lek Lek, with a kind-hearted 28-year-old man, Pramuan Santiya, and his wife Nid. The couple also has a two-month-old Bulldog named Alpha, who initially found it challenging to adapt to his new furry companion.

 

Pramuan mentioned that Lek Lek is still receiving treatment for her injuries and is making progress. She's taken to two different veterinary clinics daily for wound cleaning. Although initially, there was some friction between Lek Lek and Alpha, with time, they've adjusted to each other and have started playing together harmoniously.

 

Pramuan remains optimistic that Lek Lek's injuries will continue to heal and hopes that her fur will eventually regrow over the wounded areas. Interestingly, she is about to become a mother, as an ultrasound scan projected she could give birth to four to six puppies within the next ten days.

 

Despite her history of abuse, Lek Lek is fond of play and frolic. She has become a beloved attraction to customers at Nid's fried chicken shop where she spends her time. Visitors frequently pose for pictures with the adorable dog.

 

In his commitment to Lek Lek, Pramuan underscored that people should only keep pets if they can care for them properly. He intends to take Lek Lek to the vet routinely until she has fully recovered.

A good ending for this dog.  I honestly don't know how huskies survive in this heat.... Always thought they are a cold climate dog.

They have a double layered coat which helps them regulate their temperature in heat and cold . Unfortunately some people shave the dog and it isn't good for it's body temperature.

If they are born in a warm climate it adapts better than if one was taken from a cold climate.

Animal Rights Group in Thailand Files Police Complaint Against Siberian Husky Owner

 

 

A Siberian Husky owner is in trouble after a video of them abusing the animal emerged online. The video showed the owner pouring hot water on the dog, called Lek, as punishment for eating treats without authorization. Following the circulation of the video, Watchdog Thailand reported the case to the police for animal cruelty.

 

Lek, who was expecting puppies at the time of the incident, was noticeably in extreme pain in the video. Fortunately, a new owner, residing in Nakhon Ratchasima province, noticed the dog's burns and rushed her to the vet. Her puppies, the vet confirmed, were uninjured.

 

An accusation has been officially filed against the former owner by Watchdog Thailand’s Rattiya Thiewtrakul. As per the Prevention and Welfare of Animals Act, anyone found guilty of animal cruelty can be sentenced to a maximum of two years in prison, in addition to a fine of 40,000 baht.

 

Rattiya explained that well-wishers had provided additional information that confirmed the former owner's identity. She encouraged individuals interested in owning a Siberian Husky to first understand the breed’s strong-willed nature.

 

According to Kitiwat Piyawatnakul, a dog rescuer, a personal dispute allegedly prompted the incident. The former owner poured hot water on Lek while filming, reportedly intending to enrage their boyfriend. Since the intended reaction didn't follow, the video was then sent to a friend.

 

Meanwhile, the former owner has issued an apology, asserting that they were ‘out of their mind’ due to stress during the ill-fated act. They, however, refuted any prior knowledge of Lek’s pregnancy.

 

The case is now being investigated by the police.

My neighbour has a cat on a chain. 

 

A number of other Thais in the moo baan leave their dogs outside all day in the heat while they are at work, often 12-14 hours per day.

I hope that woman has no children. Anyone who can do that to a defenseless dog ("to enrage her boyfriend") is a psychopath and can also commit cruelty to their kids.

My family member has 2 cats in a cage all day long and when they are taking out of the cage ones a day they are on a leash disgusting what Thai people do to animals

It took weeks of cleaning and antibiotics to make sure there wasn't an infection.

People here buy these Huskies as a "fashionable" social status trinket only. Dogs bred for pulling sleds across frozen tundra in Arctic conditions reconsigned as an accessory to some muppet who would normally never consider looking after a dog as a pet or family member..

Add to the fact that this cupid stunt actually filmed herself torturing the dog and uploaded the video. Beggars belief.
