maybe these dudes would realize that a dress and shaved leggs is no longer an alibi to harrass people

The trend does seem to be to pander to these groups in our woke societies.....spare the rod and spoil the child and all that!

Well deserved. While I am exercising at Pattaya Beach I've almost punched the thai men with dresses several times when they grabbed at me, and spoke profanities. The situation has been bad for several

You must take the severity of the "assault" into consideration. I do not have a full knowledge of Thai law, but in my home country, the USA, you cannot hit someone in the face and "knock them out" just for touching you. The "touch" would have to be in your private parts, holding you to keep you from leaving, or a clear attempt to steal something, not just because they touched you. If you act the way you say you would, that would be assault.

We aren't in the USA so I do not see why this is relevant. Also my recollection is that the people there would not take well to being touched or grabbed at random. Here in Thailand physical contact is less usual.

Yes, we will probably never know the actions that led to this altercation. It could have been instigated by either party.

I also hope the Farang will be more careful and less violent in his actions.

wrong ...take a deep breath, get a life and go hang out at 3am on walking street...you'll fit right in..

They appear to believe they can go around assaulting foreign tourists with impunity.... wonder where they got that impression!

Ya agree with you 100%, one of these low lives punch out a small framed girl in our area recently, no ramifications as the place he/she works pays, the know who, each month so a waste of time getting any retribution on the assault.

I thought the hybrid slapped the farang first and kept harrasing them?

We will let you go and ask them that.

Only if you come with me as my bodyguard

Throw the dirty farang into jail - if they would not have been in Pattaya at 3am, then they would not have been chased and harassed and hence the incident would not have happened.
But since the dirty farang were there - throw them in the slammer and reward the Katoey with a million Baht ...... or make it two!

Honestly, is there nothing more note- and newsworthy than this reaction by visiting tourists against nerds like the local chicks with d1cks?

What is wrong with simply politely ignoring them and walking away?

Why so much support for the unprovoked violent attack by the  Farnang ?

Security guards from a nearby bar rushed to help him ..... fixed it.

More like Security Guards from nearby bar rushed...it see if they had an excuse to gang-up and beat on a Farang!

It is the farang who committed a violent assault

  • When he could have simply walked away

Thai law appears to state that in order for bodily harm to be deemed justifiable it has to be shown that the person committing the bodily injury was acting "in order to prevent an affray, defined as "an instance of fighting in a public place that disturbs the peace" or acting in lawful self-defense.

See page 27 of 35 Title X Offense against Life and Body Chapter 2 Offense against body in attached extract:

Although being repeatedly pestered and grabbed at might be considered a mitigating factor when considering punishment, it's highly doubtful that under the circumstances shown in the video that sucker punching someone in the face would be deemed lawful self-defense under Thai law.

Yes, that's all we see in the video above.

It could be the Farang said something insulting to the katoey as he walked past.

It could be the Farang was attracked to the katoey, thinking she was a woman, and then when he found out she wasn't, he rejected her.

Who knows?

Or it could be the hybrid slapped the farangs  face because they didnt want any bum fun from a c0ck in a frock?

Why make it complicated? Some homophobic foreigners bad-mouthed a ladyboy who shouted back... that would do it.

She didn't file a report - perhaps they (her and her friends) have their own form of retribution planned.

Not to find out what happened and see if the foreign man needs to be legally punished?  Shocking!

Is it not clear enough on video what happened? She was knocked out cold.

No matter what was said, the crime is assault. That will get him time in prison.

Despite that, well done that man!

Rejected the ladyboy and the ladyboy then assaulted and slapped one of the foreigners ,

The ladyboy continued to follow and shout at the foreigners.

One of the foreigners had enough of this abusive ladyboy and gave him a slap

The ladyboy didn't report it because it was his fault to start with

Nothing about being homophobic.

I've lived in Thailand for over 20 years but have never been to Pattaya and don't ever care to go there. What I don't understand, though, is with its reputation, why would Farangs go there and walk the streets at night expecting anything other than having sex workers aggressively seeking them as clients?

I’ve lived in Thailand 34 years and have had more issues with ladyboys in Bangkok than I ever have in Pattaya. I rarely go to Walking Street though.

Ladyboy pickpockets used to actively target farangs on lower Sukhumvit and Asok. Mind you, if you are old enough to remember, the whole area down from Soi 33 to Soi Zero used to be beer bars, and not the offices and malls we see these days.

He didn't file a report.

Him and his friends .......

No women were involved in this incident, it was all men!

The thing clear is that you don't understand how the law works.

I also stay away from Bangkok and any other large city. I prefer to live out in the country, in the mountains where there are only small villages. Three are a few katoeys here, but they are not aggressive or troublesome.

  • 2 months later...

There's obviously a backstory, but it sure looked like those guys were trying to walk away. Ladyboys can be overly aggressive and that one got her lights turned off because of it.

I'm not sure in Thailand but rural areas are high crime in Australia and I think the Philippines

I'm a City boy, I once drove in the country area in Australia and was petrified of the trees and grass not to mention wild animals kangaroos etc laying dead

I think of it just the opposite: in Thailand, the USA, or anywhere else, most crimes occur in urban areas.

I'm originally from a small town in the USA, but since then, I've lived in many large cities all over the world. I've spent some time (a couple of weeks) in Sydney and Melbourne. I've always wanted to see more of Australia, especially the small cities along the northern coast.  I prefer the country. Right now, I live in the jungle-covered mountains near a small town called Wangchomphu in Phetchabun Province, Thailand. It's remote, covered in trees and grass, and many wild animals like chickens, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, etc. We also have a lot of dogs that roam freely on our property. I love that.

Why do you think there were so many dead animals on your drive, as described above?

There was wombats, kangaroos all dead on the side of the roads ,it was a shocking site

Trucks ,etc have killed them.

I was glad to get back to the city 🌆🌇 Absolutely scary out there with trees everywhere

Probably the wife and her reverse parking.

One person punching an annoying person is not "fair" and is certainly against the law.

That's one way of looking at it: a person grabbing your arm and slapping your face is "an annoying person".  You either turn the other cheek or run away. The problem is that some people have an automatic, ie involuntary, reflex of hitting back.
