Health Rabies Deaths Triple in Thailand: Urgent Alerts Issued
Does this include You can continue the discussion in the 'off the beaten path' sub-forum... where you can also discuss if the moon-landings were faked, if the earth is flat rather than an oblate spheroid.... But... Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s record indicates that he is anti-vaccine, not merely anti-COVID vaccine - I believe its important for transparency, so I don't think anyone should be against independent, unbiased, transparent and open investigations into the safety and effectiveness all vaccines and any other matter of public health. -

Report Missing Sabungeros: Navy Prepares for Technical Dive in Batangas
Picture courtesy of PhilStar The Philippine Navy is on standby to assist with locating "missing sabungeros," believed to have been discarded in Taal Lake, Batangas. This follows allegations involving brutal crimes against cockfighting enthusiasts. Navy spokesperson Capt. John Percie Alcos confirmed that their specialised Naval Special Operations Command is ready for deployment once the Department of Justice (DOJ) issues an official request. Speaking at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, Alcos noted, "We await the DOJ's request for assistance." Once authorised, the Naval Special Operations Group will execute the technical dive, equipped to mobilise anywhere as required. While Alcos refrained from specifying the exact number of divers, he indicated that, per protocol, three teams might be involved. "These teams typically include four Navy SEALs and four technical divers,” he elaborated. The chilling claims emerged from Julie Patidongan, alias "Totoy," who accused several individuals, including businessman Atong Ang, of masterminding the murders and disposing of bodies in the lake. Ang has firmly denied these allegations. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has stated that preparations for the search are progressing, with potential commencement this week. He explained that initial procedures would involve mapping the area and coordinating ongoing dives, possibly utilising Japanese government equipment. As the investigation unfolds, charges including murder and breaches of international humanitarian law are on the table. Efforts are underway to locate the owner of the alleged fishpond site linked to the grisly acts. Reports suggest this site was where victims were purportedly brought, some still alive, before being executed. Remulla described the process as a network where individuals were systematically "caught and disposed of," shedding light on the grim operations. The unfolding investigation highlights serious implications for justice and accountability as the Philippine authorities mobilise resources and expertise to uncover the truth behind these heinous allegations. The outcome of this naval operation could potentially bring much-needed answers to the victims' families and spotlight the importance of addressing such grave violations. As officials continue their careful planning and coordination, the nation watches closely, hoping for resolution and justice. Adapted by ASEAN Now from PhilStar 2025-07-08 -
