We had a similar thread a week or two ago.

I like Beer Lao, dark.

Or Bavarian Weißbier - not only for breakfast.

I would think that someone who worries about wearing a Rollex watch in Thailand would be able to afford something better than a fosters.

Oh yes but it's not about affording, it's my personal taste. I could afford to bath in Moet but prefer water

Maybe ask you new gf if she likes that idea. And then obviously post a picture here.

Singh or Heineken. I love a pint of Singh while waiting for my food at Monsoon.

Monsoon soi 8 with a menu that covers every type of food known to man?

I'm not a beer drinker, but for what it's worth, when I was working and "had" to entertain people visiting the plant I found that the US guys that were Bud drinkers liked Chang, while the Miller drinkers liked Singha. The European and Indian guys most all drank Heineken.

Just in case you don't know, the champagne must be cold, I think under 15 degrees Celsius, to keep the bubbles. I read this in a Playboy interview many years ago.

Runaway prices have caused me to not have a favourite beer in Thailand anymore.

I never really liked the local brews.

If I feel like drinking a beer, I go for Cheers X-TRA.

None of the above which is why I don't drink beer anymore.  And the beer monopolies have the government by the cajones so that craft-beer is made close to impossible to brew.  I refuse to drink this monopolized tiger-swill in Thailand anymore - I'd rather go without.   And I do.

There are plenty of locally and regionally brewed ales in Thailand now.

You forgot the key word - "Over-priced."

Absolutely.

I'd love an ice cold Kilkenny or John Smith draft off the tap in a chilled glass.

But, I'll just have to settle for what's available.

A luke warm Chang in a cracked plastic cup with a fist full of ice.

Usually a menu like that is a beg red flag, but they pull it off.
