RolandRat Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I'm exploring local beers in Thailand. Which brand is your favorite: Leo, Chang, Singha, or another? What do you recommend?
Ben Zioner Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Singh or Heineken. I love a pint of Singh while waiting for my food at Monsoon.

retarius Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Favourite taste in bottled beer is Leo. In draft beer it is Chang.
Popular Post DualSportBiker Posted July 1, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 1, 2024 There are plenty of locally and regionally brewed ales in Thailand now. No longer necessary to drink the pigswill that is available at 7/11. Cheap is not a reason to compromise because you can't shine a turd. 3 2
Popular Post OneMoreFarang Posted July 1, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 1, 2024 We had a similar thread a week or two ago. I like Beer Lao, dark. Or Bavarian Weißbier - not only for breakfast. 1 1 1

Oh yes but it's not about affording, it's my personal taste. I could afford to bath in Moet but prefer water 3

Yellowtail Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I'm not a beer drinker, but for what it's worth, when I was working and "had" to entertain people visiting the plant I found that the US guys that were Bud drinkers liked Chang, while the Miller drinkers liked Singha. The European and Indian guys most all drank Heineken.

I read this in a Playboy interview many years ago. 2

tgw Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Runaway prices have caused me to not have a favourite beer in Thailand anymore. I never really liked the local brews. If I feel like drinking a beer, I go for Cheers X-TRA.
connda Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 None of the above which is why I don't drink beer anymore. And the beer monopolies have the government by the cajones so that craft-beer is made close to impossible to brew. I refuse to drink this monopolized tiger-swill in Thailand anymore - I'd rather go without. And I do. 1

sipi Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I'd love an ice cold Kilkenny or John Smith draft off the tap in a chilled glass. But, I'll just have to settle for what's available. A luke warm Chang in a cracked plastic cup with a fist full of ice. 1
