Thailand is 'shocked' by Kyiv hospital attack

Featured Replies

In a distressing event early this week, admired Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv was subjected to a violent strike, which caused significant global uproar, including a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs..

In a statement released by Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the nation expressed its profound shock and sorrow over the attack which led to the tragic loss of lives and numerous injuries.

Thailand's government, in their communique, revealed deep condolences towards the families affected by this tragedy and stressed on the urgent need for the protection of all civilians, emphasizing that hospitals, medical workers, and patients should be safeguarded under international humanitarian law.

Worryingly, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred in conflict zones, but the direct hit on a children's healthcare facility has sparked particularly intense international indignation.

Reports emerging from the scene indicated that the attack, purportedly by a Russian missile, not only shattered the infrastructure but also resulted in the deaths and injuries of multiple individuals, including children.

Among the wreckage was the hospital’s vital dialysis department, critically affecting the care of young patients reliant on life-sustaining treatments.

The assault on Okhmatdyt Hospital has pulled into sharp relief the broader human rights implications associated with military conflicts, especially those involving civilian facilities that provide essential services.

The international community's response, including that of Thailand, underscores a united stance against breaches of humanitarian law, advocating for the cessation of violence and the promotion of peace.

Big difference between being 'shocked' and actually condemning a barbaric, murderous attack on innocents.

What are the chances the Ukraine will 'win' this war against the mighty Russian army with China now helping Russia?

how many more will have to die and cities put to ruines before they'll get it that Putin will not give up?

not that i side with Russia of course...

None had to die, along they can end the war anytime they'd like.  Not in the best interest of the west's defense contractors though, so it will continue.

So Russia invaded a country (not in the west).

Russian soldiers, aided by China and North Korea (again, not in the west).

Murdering civilians, raping woman and stealing children and you manage to blame the west.

Just for information - Russia murdered on day 1. The west was not involved then. To say that none had to die is incorrect.

No one should be shocked by the "filthy Russian" regime its their death and destruction MO wherever they go 🤔

It could have been a similar scenario as the beach - a falling rocket. It's terrible news either way. Let's hope they give as much attention to hospitals being hit on the other side. We need peace - there is no glory in war, and innocents suffer - on both sides.

A NASAMS air defense missile hit the hospital just like Russian air defense hit the ATACMS missile full of cluster munitions over a Crimean beach. Collateral Damage: War is Hell. But Ukraine should have signed the Istanbul Accord in April of 2022 and this would have been over.  Why isn't it over?  Peace is not profitable for the West.  The US and Western weapons manufacturers want "Forever War" as it's a Trillion Dollar a year industry - and right at the moment all NATO needs to do is to feed Slavic people into the meat-grinder and extract profits.  Trust me - The West doesn't give a **** about Slavs (speaking as an ethnic Slav).

In other news, the Main-Stream Media use of the term "Shocked" is a tagline used to jerk an emotive response out of readers.  It's a propaganda term.  The phrase, "Thailand is Shocked,"  is utter nonsense.  I could ask my wife about Ukraine and she's say, "What's Ukraine?"  That's pretty much most of the Thai public who could care less about what happens outside of Thailand.  Now "Thailand is Shocked" will definitely be the case when the government raises electricity rates between 18% to 44% - then "Thailand" will be "Shocked."  The Ukraine conflict?  "What's Ukraine?"  That about sums it up.

No chance from day one - it's all theatre with real people getting killed and maimed all for political philosophy. We need negotiations and an end to this evil war. Neutral Ukraine - Russian withdrawal.

I have been getting used to this sort of thing after watching every clinic and hospital in Gaza be bombed over the last 9 months in near daily attacks.

At least the Ukrainians can relocate the injured to other hospitals with medicine, unlike in Gaza.

It's not over by a long chalk. And if the Russian army is so mighty why hasn't it just walked in unopposed? This was supposed to have been over in a fortnight. It'll go down in history as winner of the greatest Darwin award ever. How many Russians killed? And for what? A few scraps of territory.

Before the invasion started there was a peace treaty ready to be signed on the table... certain nations made sure it was ignored.

If you delve deep into the peace deal, you'd know that amongst other very sticky sticking points, the Russians insisted on being one of the guarantor states which could wield veto powers that would stop any other state coming to Kievs' aid in the future. Ukraine was never going to agree to that.
