smiled, stretched my arms out to the sides

Smiling is always a good thing to do.

But, I don't get the stretching of the arms?

What does this do, exactly?

and open arms invitation, and showing them I was ready, obvously they changed their mind, and didnt bother.

I was warned about where I could walk in the city, but christ sake it was only 300m and saved me for 800m walking around. I never walked through there again. I was lucky.

Short story, I first noticed one in front of me aimed for me, I looked to my side, and saw another targeting me, and then behind me where the third one approaching, turned myself up to the wall, arms out to the sides with my shopping bags, noded and smiled to make them aware of I saw them, and understood what was coming. They backed off

If you spend your time, mostly, on Thailand's university campuses, then the probability of an unprovoked attack is quite low.

However, on a uni campus here in Thailand, the chances of being attacked by another Farang is actually quite high.

You have now officially lost your mind.

bob.

Nothing about Thailand sits right with you Bob, you bitch about everything real or (mostly) perceived. Why are you even here to begin with? Honest question. You just like making trolling posts? If its that terrible just leave.

You have a lot to learn about the world we live in.

You will not agree - but facts are facts!

I don't need to learn the scary world you live in.

I don't have many problems here but am certainly not running away from them.

I would go after him with a baseball bat or pick axe handle, after hitting him on the face and he is lying on the ground I would break his legs. I would do a bit of due diligence, make sure there was no witnesses or camera's about. If the guy knew where I lived, I would wait a few months then pay someone else to do it. But one thing is certain, he would not get away with it.

Yeah right.

how many years have you lived here and how many times have you been bashed?

I feel very safe here and the Thais, especially in entertainment areas, seem to have a high tolerance and understanding of drunken idiots.

These idiots would not get half as far if the behaved like they do here in the UK or USA

If I saw a Thai fighting with Bob I would jump in to help.

Help the Thai.

"If I saw a Thai fighting with Bob I would jump in to help.

Help the Thai"

You would not need to help the Thai, he would already have 3 or 4 Thai guys already at his back. I have lived here for 18 years and never as much as been even threatened, I have been about Bangkok and Pattaya many times and never had a problem. If you are sober and mind your own business you will not have a problem with any violence in Thailand.
