A Marine who stormed the U.S. Capitol and apparently flashed a Nazi salute in front of the building was sentenced on Friday to nearly five years in prison.

Tyler Bradley Dykes, of South Carolina, was an active-duty Marine when he grabbed a police riot shield from the hands of two police officers and used it to push his way through police lines during the attack by the mob of then-President Donald Trump's supporters on Jan. 6, 2021.

Dykes, who pleaded guilty in April to assault charges, previously was convicted of a crime stemming from the 2017 white nationalist Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dykes was transferred to federal custody in 2023 after he served a six-month sentence in a state prison.

Biden supporters can loot and steal from merchants without prosecution provided it’s under $1000.00 USD.

5 years for a gesture!!!  Only under the facist rule of liberalism.

Here's a couple of predictions. Following Biden's withdrawal, the DNC will select a totally off the wall, but popular and well known (non-political) nominee. I'm thinking someone a la Dwayne Johnson. Yes, The Rock.

Their intention being to pick up the low IQ non-political uninformed voters who are just smart enough to realize Biden is unsuitable and otherwise wouldn't bother voting.

The running mate will be a night watchman of sorts, say Shapiro.

And if you can get a bet on the Joint Chiefs of Staff at least attempting a military intervention (I hesitate to use the word coup), following Trump's return to the Whitehouse, take the bet. Assuming of course that Trump survives the next assassination attempt.

And if you're thinking this could never happen, this is America - you aren't paying attention beyond what the MSM are pedalling to you.:coffee1:

He wasn't charged, convicted or sentence for any hand gesture, as freedom of expression is still legal in USA.

Title of thread should be changed as very misleading.  Seems the usual tactic with OP ... IMHO

5 years for a salute seems excessive. Real criminals get less that that. Hopefully when Trump gets elected he'll pardon all convicted over that incident.

Try reading the actual news report:

"Tyler Bradley Dykes, of South Carolina, was an active-duty Marine when he grabbed a police riot shield from the hands of two police officers and used it to push his way through police lines during the attack by the mob of then-President Donald Trump's supporters on Jan. 6, 2021.

Dykes, who pleaded guilty in April to assault charges, ..."

The headline used on this thread is exactly the headline used by the Associated Press on their news report article that is the OP here.

That's the way it's supposed to work... use the original news article headline, not something we make up on our own.

Perhaps the AP decided to focus on the Nazi salute in their headline and lead of this article because of the convicted person's history as spelled out in the same OP article...

"Dykes ... previously was convicted of a crime stemming from the 2017 white nationalist Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia."

What?  They can lock people up for doing fascist gestures?

He looks so much younger in this photo.

Also, handsome.

Also, that is nothing more than a Black Power hand gesture.

Very popular in the 60s and early 70s.
