Imho, I see the USA at a crossroad and the USA of yesteryear, having been called the leader of the free world, gone forever. If the Democrats win the election I think they will rely on The Constitution, as a guide, much less and pave the way for a new one, perhaps favouring stronger philosophical ties to a Socialist Republic. I would not be surprised if some states would try to break free of the Union. If the Republicans win The Constitution might become more important with perhaps a hardening towards centre and far Left which will have its own repercussions.

I understand your sentiment. It is a shame that the presidential race is down to personality rather than ability! Maybe one day America will choose a real politician for president.

 

But I think this time around it is for Trump to lose this race. The Dems politicised all of the charges brought against Trump, have shown themselves to be unhinged in the way they went after Trump. The Dems need to re think their whole political future. So imo it is too late for Harris to be a shoe in to replace Biden. But it won't stop the MSM from pumping out more BS trying to claim that Harris is ahead in the polls or that she has a real chance to beat Trump.

 

She is a total airhead, with her "time is time" and other nonsense punch lines she comes out with. She would be President in name only. She would be controlled and Obama, who would serve as President behind the scenes for yet another 4 years.

Not at all, I lived in California during the time she was district attorney in San Francisco and attorney general in California, and I disagreed with a lot of her policies. I thought that a lot of her tough crime policies were grossly unfair, and I had a lot of issues with her. I also question how effective she was as vice president, though an argument could easily be made that very few vice presidents accomplish all that much.

 

Having said all that, I will take anyone but Trump. So I'm happy to support her and I'm happy to vote for her, unless somebody else is selected, which looks very doubtful. I do have to give her credit, she has picked up the ball and run with it very quickly, and she has caught Trump completely off guard with his pants down around his ankles. It is really fun to watch him panicking.

I might agree with some of what you said if she was running against anyone but Trump, but in my opinion I've never seen a bigger airhead running for office in my lifetime, and I'm including Mondale and Dukakis. I think he's a worse candidate than both of them. He is a highly skilled huckster and charlatan, and he definitely has an awful lot of people under his spell. But he is semi-senile, an old 78, a narcissistic sociopath, (look it up, he has all 10 classic qualities of one), and I believe he's melting down and he's going to lose this thing.
