Electric Vehicles in Thailand
They Chinese are their own undoing and now they are crying a river when they take their own medicine. We have talked about this part before "When production in Thailand began, it could not be sold and could not be exported anywhere..." Over capacity is real and there is simply no demand and no export market for the millions of cars Chinese auto manufacturers want to produce. The pile up in various ports is not because of lack of logistics, but plan and simple over supply. -

UK Considers Sending Prisoners to Estonia to Ease Overcrowding Crisis
Illegal immigration will never be stopped completely. The idea is to create deterrents. Rwanda was one. As was witnessed by immigrants fleeing to ROI on the day UT was passed. Have you not seen Germany's latest plans? The lack of prison space is d9wn to the fact too many people are getting caught breaking the law. That's the decision of the law breakers. No deflection. Just a comment. -

The Thai ETA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation)
With Singapore Airlines it's not optional. Self check in only for me in last 18 months. I'm sure that when the ETA is mandatory it'll be added to self check-in -

Trump plays another losing hand......
Price to book value is 10x so the assets are only worth $1.70 per share. Seems his stake is doing ok. I'd love to own $2bn in shares. -

Reduce taxation by gifting.
You misunderstand the situation all gifts in Thailand require proof that it is a gift to limit taxation on them. Hence the need for a gift contract which establishes that a a gift has been given. Other countries have other requirements, the TRD requires that proof it be incontrovertible hence the need for a contract. You also misunderstand the law on minors signing a contract. Yes it is true that a minor cannot sign sui juris and that if they do the contract is void, however they can sign with a legal representative’s consent. I don’t pretend to know the limitations of who can be the legal representative but I’m sure any competent Thai lawyer can advise, though it’s unlikely that a parent giving a gift to a minor could qualify as the required legal representative. You are also missing the point that gift law in Thailand is comprehensive and a money gift is only one kind that is covered. -

Drug-Crazed Man Dies After Being Beaten by Mob Following Tractor Theft in Bangkok
What do you mean? Is it a stupid idea, or idiotic comment? If any, in what way? Is it unfair to draw lines between primitive behavior and sitting eating on the floor 2024? -

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
Thank you for posting this. If those progressive tax rates were ever implemented, this would likely trigger an exodus of higher-income expats. This would have the effect of increasing the percentage of low or lower income expats, the exact opposite of the high income big spending expat profile Thailand has long dreamed of. Another strange aspect is that there doesn't seem to be any consideration for marital status or number of Thai dependants. This straight-off-the-top taxation would have to hit consumption and expenditure stats; seems like it could be a zero-sum game. Where are all these dual taxation, tax treaty, verification of income, and number of days residing in Thailand issues going to be resolved? God help us if the answer is at your local immigration office, especially if you live out in the countryside. This whole thing sounds like yet another classic example of one department coming up with a scheme without thinking through how it will be implemented and unintended side effects. I'm not going to let myself get worked up about this for the time being. -

The Thai ETA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation)
Never used a self check in, and never will. If you can scan the passport, why can't you scan the QR code on the ETA? -

Trump admits he lost in 2020, leading white nationalist Nick Fuentes to disavow him
The vile mouth and moron doesn't know the day of the week, let alone what happened 4 years ago because all he talks about is himself. The Dems should concentrate on his mental health as he can only repeat the same old <deleted>, just like his German predecessors did, the Nazis. It's the same old propaganda game of tell them, tell them again and again and very sadly for the unintellectual base, they will believe it... -

UK Considers Sending Prisoners to Estonia to Ease Overcrowding Crisis
You're comparing apples and oranges. The Rwanda fiasco would have dealt with 200 asylum seekers per year. Labour were correct in scrapping this lunacy. The lack of prison space is firmly the fault of the Tories ripping up our social infrastructure. Nice try at deflection.
