Most of my dear friends in the US are leftists. Over the decades from the perspective of both sides discussions are subverted with deflections and go off on irrelevant tangents and claims. We’ve learned to interject humor into the short one or two sentences of a topic and move on. My friends, respectfully have their opinions and world views though I may not agree, I certainly don’t judge them, I judge the propaganda and the false ideology as I personally see it, as do they. The only difference is that I know I’m right and they think they’re right 555!!

but the left on here  won’t tolerate any topic that goes against their side.

Let it ride, it’s a challenge of civility. Nothing on the internet should be taken personally on an anonymous forum. My personal reputation is not dependent on anonymous internet rhetoric, that path has already been laid behind me and that is what matters.

Those that rule are left-wing - nothing can be done. Most new topics are left-wing/Dems opinion pieces from MSM. We must accept that we are commenting within that left-leaning space; some get protections, and some don't. I gave up wishing for fairness many years ago here.

People with good arguments, use them.  People with no arguments, resort to personal attacks and name calling.

The irony of current debates in Usofa is that what counts as 'Leftist' or 'extreme Left' in Usofa would be considered as rightwing or extreme right in just about every other democratic Western nation.

 

In Oz for instance I'm a right-of-centre kind of person and I vote for the Liberal(!) Party, which alternates in government with the Labor Party.

 

If I lived in Usofa I guess I would be voting for Bernie Sanders.

Water long since under the bridge.  In my adult life, I've chosen black roommates, in 3 states.  But I still avoid crowds of angry black people.  And so did my roommates.

My elementary school was predominantly black /poor white folk! 
I had a few school yard fist fights with black kids!

The boys club I belong to was similar!

 

Eventually my family moved out and bought a 3 decker  in another part of the city! I started fighting 

the Irish/ American bullies!

Got my as- kicked many of times !

Live & learn.

Now Im old & grey & walk away

when someone is acting aggressively 

stupid & physical!
