Political activist Ruangkrai Leekitwattana has urgently called upon the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to hasten the prosecution of 44 former Move Forward Party MPs. These MPs had endorsed amendments to the country's lèse majesté law (Section 112), which is considered a grave offence in Thailand.

In a press conference today, Ruangkrai revealed he had sent a pressing letter to the NACC. This letter requested access to the Constitutional Court's recent ruling against the Move Forward Party, aiming to use it as critical evidence against the accused MPs. The allegation against them is gross ethical misconduct.

The dissolved Move Forward Party had introduced five draft bills to amend the lèse majesté law. The most contentious of these sought to relocate the lèse majesté provisions from the defamation section to a new chapter, specifically aimed at protecting the honour of the King, Queen, Heir Apparent, and Regent.

Ruangkrai highlighted that the Constitutional Court had already determined that the party’s actions aimed to overthrow democracy under a constitutional monarchy. The court also ruled that their continuous push for these amendments sought to diminish the monarchy's status.

"According to the ruling, the actions of these 44 MPs violate Section 234 (1) of the Constitution," Ruangkrai stated.

Thirayuth Suwankesorn, a lawyer, had previously requested the NACC to examine these MPs' conduct. He had also petitioned the Election Commission, accusing the Move Forward Party and its former leader, Pita Limjaroenrat, of attempting to destabilise democracy under a constitutional monarchy.

Earlier this year, on January 31st, the Constitutional Court found both Pita and the party guilty and ordered them to halt all activities related to amending the lèse majesté law. This ruling has paved the way for Ruangkrai and others to push for rapid legal proceedings against the former MPs.

This situation remains highly sensitive and continues to stir significant public and political discourse in Thailand.

I urge the people to quickly take action against their enemies.

Prosecuting them seems like a MASSIVE mistake, but...

they were charged with crimes (112 - 116), so not prosecuting them sends the message that they were illegally targeted by the State.

Tough position for the powers-that-be to defend.

Only two people pull the strings in Thailand, one is untouchable, the other thinks he is.

Political activist Ruangkrai Leekitwattana is a bought and paid for shrill, who is simply doing what has been requested of him, by the toxic powers that are preventing Thailand from becoming a modern nation and democracy, progressing and evolving into the future. He is a highly toxic force and must be stopped.

I'm not so sure. I think this person is a genuine,  bona fide nutcase of his own volition. Not all loyal royalists are on someone's payroll. There are some real people out there who seriously believe royalty of any country are more than ordinary mortals.

Once the seed of this belief germinates and becomes the focus of their respect and admiration,  they are completely lost to logic, reasoning or intellectual persuasion.  It is an article of faith with them and they will tolerate no contrary views.

In other words, dangerous fanatics.

This could put the powers that be in a sticky position.......dissolving the MFP, which quickly reforms under a different name is one thing........putting 44 MPs in jail, with substantial prison sentences, is a whole new ball game.

That might finally force the EU, US, and other World leaders to put Thailand on the same list as Myanmar.

I'm just amazed.  I watch this bovine excrement happening now in country after country after county which call themselves "democracies."  I'll be honest.  At least the coup leaders knew what they were.  The Communist Party of China knows what it is.  Various autocratic nations with leaders at the helms of state for years if not decades know what they are.

But when countries call themselves democracies, and beat the drums of democracy, and even label their landmarks as icons of democracy - and then urinate on the votes of the people by stripping the elected from their positions based on party affiliation?  That's not a democracy.  Not even close.  Kleptocracy?  Closer.  'Nuff said.  I'll leave it at that.  Ain't my country.  I just detest hypocrisy, and yet hypocrisy is the rule of the land in this day and age.  Don't call your country a democracy when it is obviously not.

Jesus, most of humankind of all ethnicities and races across the entire globe from the North to South and East to West are little more than violent war-crazed, power-hungry monkeys. There are pockets of humans on this world who are actually moral, ethical, and human.  But few and far between.
A world-wide strategic nuclear war would probably be a blessing in disguise, at least for the lifeforms that survive.  The Earth?  It would be a sunburn that is shakes off in a few decades.  It would just be The Earth plus Radioactivity.
But the only reason I'd rather not see that is just because there are pockets of humans on this world who are actually moral, ethical, and human. And as long as those individuals exist, there is a semblance of hope for mankind.  It's too bad that those who should be leaders have little if any desire for power.  It is those who make terrible leaders who have unlimited desire for power and control.  Personally I'll be surprised if humanity last to the end of this decade no less last to the end of this century.  No doubt the planet will be blown up in the name of "Saving Democracy."

As soon as a viable party emerges with the backing of a quorum of the population, especially if those potential voters are from the younger generations, the Thai political machine rolls out the lawfare weed-wacker and starts a'mowing down anything and everything that challenges the status-quo and shows even the tiniest sprout of life sticking out above the barren soils of toxic politic.

Ruangkrai Leekitwattana should be made aware of UN Article 19.... it seems he is anti democracy

Well it's been many days since the verdict, and not a peep from the masses, the spineless are going to stay spineless I guess. Something like this would start a Civil War in most countries, here it becomes just another soundbite on the nightly news.
