August 11, 20241 yr Cant seem to find banking forum. I use Lazada a reasonable amount and always used Credit Card to pay. Lately I use QR code scan as going to close CC. I recently purchased an item but due to time to ship I cancelled it. Refund was to my Lazada Wallet which I did not know I had. Made a couple purchases using wallet balance no issues. Just went to purchase another item and wallet short on balance so I tried Top Up. First attempt I needed to link bank account to wallet. It then asked me for my Debit Card number and ATM PIN. No thanks. I exited that and found another way without need to disclose PIN number.
August 11, 20241 yr I use my credit card all the time and my debit card very seldom. I remember when I tried to use my debit card in an ordinary and "good" shop, I needed my PIN. I think that is normal for debit cards.
August 11, 20241 yr Popular Post I'm sure Lazada will not ask for your ATM pin, because they would have no use for it. They may ask for your CVC code, or to create a PIN only usable on Lazada

As I never store any debit/credit card info on servers I enter the data when payment is due. I note the CVC and carefully scratch off from the card. No one needs to see it and without you are safer when handing over the card (which should be avoided if possible).

I have used debit card on Lazada a few times now but it just gave me QR code to scan, didn't ask for Pin. Setting up to top up lazada wallet did ask for Pin (see screen cap).

I would very much doubt if Lazada would ask for those details.

Well they did, see proof on screen shot. This was going through "My Wallet" in Lazada account settings. Possibly redirected me from Lazada in the set up process.

August 11, 20241 yr You can always say 6660 or any nonsense PIN. Whatever in their mind is utterly stupid.

Was it the same page as before? If so try this link https://www.lazada.co.th/helpcenter/ but close the site you have up. They have a chat line I know. There is no necessity for Lazada to have your PIN number, just the account number.

That is very strange as a company just needs the bank details i.e. account number and name plus the bank name. There should be a chat box you can communicate with their service group. I had a problem once and I messaged them. Within 10 minutes the problem was sorted.

Tried chat box once and it gave me info (auto reply) I didn't need. Cant be bothered anymore. I have put it out there if people don't want to believe up to them.

August 11, 20241 yr Lazada has absolutely no use for your ATM card PIN code. However, they have added their own App PIN code as an additional security feature. I think that is the PIN code they are asking you for. Quote FAQ - Payment PIN Setup💡 PaymentsPayment Set PIN Updated at 05/07/2024 Q: What is PIN Setup? - To enhance security for future transactions, such as cash withdrawals or payments for purchases, consider setting a PIN code. August 11, 20241 yr Popular Post Looks .like lazada handed off the verification to bkk bank and it's actually the bank asking for the pin to verify it's you using it.

The clue is in your own screenshot Since when does an ATM card have a 6 digit PIN? And you screenshot is not about adding a debit card, it's for top up with a debit card you have added, and created your PIN which is only recognized by Lazada.

Anyway if you have an 8 digit ATM pin, how would you add that to Lazada which are specifically asking for a SIX digit pin? I stand by my comment that the clue is in the screenshot, and that Lazada doesn't ask for the PIN you enter at the ATM terminal..
August 11, 20241 yr surely your bank specifically advises/requests you don't give your PIN number to third parties.

All my US and Canada pins have a 4 digit pins. I recently had to enter my pin on one of my thai accts. K-bank I believe. It was the bank requesting, not a third party. If, as I suspect, the OP's transaction was handed off to bkk bank then it's likely ok.
